Hah. Great analogy. "You either a die a hero (Michael Scott), or live long enough to see yourself become a villain (Andy Bernard)".

I love David Fincher but if he isn't going to direct every episode, and since no one can adequately imitate his style, in retrospect I found his presence somewhat of a distraction in these first two episodes. Don't get me wrong, I do think he created the tonal template for the show, but it took another episode or two…
So far my favorite part of this show is the theme music/opening credits. And I've seen four episodes.
"Can I get ribs?" - great line… because ribs always seem like something for which you need to ask permission.
The ending of this episode really stressed me out.
I agree - I feel like the show is really clicking. And ditto on the radio station.
I very much enjoyed the subtle "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" homage on the highway at the end of this episode. Strangely I was half-expecting Nazir to break into a Leatherface-dance when Carrie made it to safety.

Yeah true. I dig the poster for this movie also.

I always found the opening credits in "Enter The Void" to be WAY overhyped (for what it's worth I saw it in a theatre). But I also LOVED the movie.

"empty, calculating movie"… that's the point. It was an exercise.

Thanks for the drop-in Ryan. It was oddly exciting to come here on Tuesday AM and actually see a review of this show.
