Vegas is my standard Saturday or Sunday afternoon show: not cutting edge TV like Mad Men or Justified - but serviceable enough and a cut above the average procedural. The good news is I don't lose much not watching it till Sunday since there are only 14 reasonable discussions. The bad news is that it's Saturday and

This entire episode including David Morrissey's performance, the aesthetic, the slow pace, and the occasional weird turn with the scientist; all made me feel like I was watching "Planet of The Apes: The TV Series" or a 70s TV movie of the week.

The show is sort of hit and miss but when it hits, I think it hits better than any new network show. The scene at the sheriff's office with Sarah Jones and Jason O'Mara was one of the better non-cable slow burns in the past month on television.

"Phil-osophy", in both concept and content, felt soooooo Michael Scott to me.
