Thanks! I've read The Crow Road, and I've been reading the Culture novels in order of publication, but my wife is demanding I skip ahead to Matter after I finish Excession (20 pages to go).

I've already committed to reading as much Iain Banks (with and without the M.) as I can. The news today that he has less than a year to live has reinforced that notion. I begin reading Matter tomorrow.

Jordo,

I don't mean to speak ill of El Oso, its a really good album, with some great songs: circle, the incumbent, i miss the girl; but I still listen to the other two albums more.

I totally agree that Soul Coughing suffered from diminished returns. However, the worst Soul Coughing album is far better than any of Doughty's solo work to date.

I love most of this guy's music, but seriously, he can go fuck himself.

WHERE'S THE SPOILER SPACE???

I still don't know who this person is. I feel like I should be old enough (34) to remember her. Guess not.

Hugo was terrible.

I've only seen about five minutes. Two firefighters were about to get in a fistfight, then someone's mom showed up with a plate of cookies.

Totally missed that!

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure

Chief?

Speaking as an attorney that defends crop dusters on a fairly regular basis, this article has convinced me to kill myself.

I don't think I've enjoyed a Green Arrow comic since One Year Later.

So no pitchfork then.

Well, everyone knows that Custer died at Little Bighorn. What this book presupposes is . . . maybe he didn't.

That second paragraph is pure gold and a perfect example of why I end up checking this site every 15 minutes.

I loved that movie. Why did I think it was in black and white?

Well said.
