I've already committed to reading as much Iain Banks (with and without the M.) as I can. The news today that he has less than a year to live has reinforced that notion. I begin reading Matter tomorrow.

I don't mean to speak ill of El Oso, its a really good album, with some great songs: circle, the incumbent, i miss the girl; but I still listen to the other two albums more.
I totally agree that Soul Coughing suffered from diminished returns. However, the worst Soul Coughing album is far better than any of Doughty's solo work to date.
I love most of this guy's music, but seriously, he can go fuck himself.
