I agree, Pulp is more Berlin era Bowie/Iggy Pop, Suede was more 70's glam rock influenced. Suede are still putting out some decent albums. Their first album with Bernard Butler is so fucking good.
I agree, Chesil Beach was beautiful, but Jesus did it depress the hell out of me. And even though it's more like a Le Carre novel, The Innocent is also heartbreaking. Always loved his short story collections also.
