I'm not sure if I was surprised to see Pachelbel's Canon in D on the track list.  On the one hand, it is decidedly unsexy and seems very out of place.  On the other hand, it is so extremely cliched that it could probably fit in anywhere.

I think the original sense of the term was that the "concept" or premise was the overriding basis of the production, apart from things like plot or characters, and was thus more elevated in people's awareness.

Nope, but it's my understanding that there is no strictly necessary word order in Latin, due to the case system.  I don't know how you could ever make sense of a string of "buffalo" without fairly strict word order rules.
