"Zack Handlen has always imagined if he were going to propose, it would involve 77 shiny silver sousaphones."

Observers = our highly-evolved descendants from the future

Also, "gift" (the verb) often is used to imply that the thing being given was unwanted (like a "re-gifted" holiday present) or imposes some burden on the recipient.  That said, I still dislike this usage as well.

Oh sure, Louis C.K. wins a Grammy and now Gaffigan decides to bite off his distribution model.  Next he'll be emulating C.K.'s thinning hair, pale complexion and doughy physique.

Why is this show scheduled in between Last Man Standing and the River?  It belongs in ABCs Wednesday night "affluent white people you'd like to hang out with" lineup (Suburgatory, Modern Family, Happy Endings).  Maybe ABC execs could pair The Middle with Last Man Standing?  Nah, that would make too much sense.

Hmm, I had fictional character crushes on Kaylee
Frye and Dr. Elliot Reed, and only now do I realize that they look a
great deal alike.  I also emphatically agree with the contributors who
picked Drew Barrymore in The Wedding Singer, Ione Skye in Say
Anything and Minnie Driver in Grosse Pointe Blank (not to mention

This looks like it could be good, or at least pretty fun.  Two things that I approve of in this trailer:
(1) Keira Knightley appears to be smoking a joint while hanging out in Steve Carell's apartment.
(2) Gillian Jacobs plants a big ol' lesbian kiss on Keira Knightley at the cheesy restaurant.

Emmy Rossum is a delight, a pure delight.  That is all.

I'm starting to like this show - it's a grower.

"Repeats and televised wasteland" you say?  What about Royal Pains?  My aunt loves that show.

"They were more of a cross between zombies and vampires."

Speaking of Damian Lewis, now that Homeland is on hiatus (along with Breaking Bad), this is the best non-comedy on television.

Wow, just read Prophet and I have to say it is incredibly good.  Every page made me want to know more about it's world/setting and how it got that way.   The art is awesome, with a definite Euro Moebius/Jodorowsky feel.  One of the best books I've read in a long time.  And I would have skipped it were it not for the

"I'm going to wait for the trade."

I had always assumed the show's title was a play on the title of the Twain memoir, though I have no facts to back up that belief.

After getting an ISP letter a few years ago, I stopped using public bittorrent sites, got on some good "private" torrent sites, and haven't had a problem since.  It's not that private sites are so secret or so secure, but rather that they are much, much smaller and therefore less likely to be monitored.

Just picking a nit here perhaps, it doesn't have to be "forced" or "violent" to be rape - any sex *without consent* is rape.  On the other hand, rape is much more than merely feeling violated or being taken advantage of, so it really would be nice if people would stop trivializing the word by using it in that way.

Best comics of 2011, by publisher:

When I saw Gillian at Jimmy's social, I immediately thought of Motherboy XXX.

The phrase "Jimmy hitting for the Oedipal cycle" is my favorite part of this review. I Loled.
