I'll solidly stand by his performance in Lawless even though the film overall was meh.  Hopefully Nymphomaniac is a step in the right direction.

I'll admit I was only more aware of his pedophilia which I think is more about power dynamic than sexuality.  More aware of the actual context of his murders I rescind most of my comment. 

While not wanting to weigh too heavily into the world of Morrissey comments I am not sure if putting Jeffery Dahmer into the category of gay is necessarily the best fit.

Considering that homosexuality as we know it today is a relatively modern concept I think its hard to say.  Let alone address whether a whole warrior culture would self-identify with the category which they may not be able to conceive.

I actually saw this with a few friends at an AMC(I sweat half of this films 300 screens were in the KC area).  I think our screening started with 10 other people, we were alone by the end.  As you said though it was truly glorious.

See I just took it as pop in the spirit of Peter Gabriel.  Granted maybe the rest of that record has more rock cred?  But I saw it as more of an outlier in the pop world than in the rock world. 

Ok, in lieu of not having "not Peter Gabriel" as a genre option I can respect that.

Yeah I just operate under the assumption that with things like Fun. the indie-rock sound had become mainstream rock anyway.

How is Gotye alternative?  I still don't understand, also give Biophilia a little love AV Club.

Did they also pick up more episodes of Bunk? I may be the only fan of that show, but inquiring minds want to know.

I'm still betting at most this gets a 80-90 million dollar budget.  And honestly with the Disney marketing machine, and international markets that should at least break even.
