Do all these programs have to lay on the hipster fashion parade so thickly? More shows need to find a middle ground between dressing up the characters as H&M models and making the entire cast look like they were rounded up from the Showrunner's best friends. Maybe they could just have conservative haircuts and facial

I think "hater" already implies that their comments aren't worth engaging with.

It's a really tough one because I basically agree that Enlightened was the better show on an intellectual level but goddamn Breaking Bad is television at its finest and in the end it was the more effective piece of work. Any show that can make me yell aloud in my adult years has done something pretty special and I've

I think there is huge potential for a Franz Kafka game but I couldn't see anything of him in the trailer. Not that it told us much but it looked more like a quirky puzzle game that suits A Series of Unfortunate Events better or uh Twin Peaks. I think you need to be a bit more like Kentucky Route Zero and have a

I guess they were a bit safe and obvious (although Computer Chess less so) but you won't see many critics lists with The Counselor or At Berkeley in their top 10. I mean they aren't exactly great films but at least it wasn't a list that picked films merely from the top 20 films that will be fill up 50-100% of most end

I dislike this episodic approach to gaming. It works with a television show because they are capable of delivering on a deadline. I don't really want to play the game in one hour chunks over the course of a year.

Yeah, I'm not envious of his position the show doesn't give him much to work with. If he has decided to crap on the show then he basically has to be funny or he has to try much harder to pinpoint or explain why it fails but I'd rather he just tried to be funny. To me this article really read like "I don't want to do

Gone Home was an indirect success for me. I thought it told its story well but ultimately that story just wasn't very interesting. It felt like what it was. Going through the room of a teenage girl and reading her diary. In one sense that is a great achievement in another it's kinda boring. I was loving the game until

I feel like the opposite happens quite a lot. The storytelling in a game is dismissed because it's a game and the player didn't try to engage with it at all and actually saw it as a threat to his precious gameplay.

The Last of Us wasn't mediocre by other standards - a mediocre film would be something like World War Z which TLoU was clearly much better than in terms of storytelling. It's also important to recognise that different mediums tell stories in different ways. I think you'd really struggle to tell me why "The Road" was

This seems to be one of the few places that reflects my dislike for Wrong and for largely the same reasons. Not sure it is one of the worst films of the year though. It's at least interesting to see what non-sequitors it comes up with.

I have no desire to defend this show but this review seemed incredibly petty and dismissive and ended up being, ironically, quite boring to read. I think we get it. You don't like the show. Just re-capping the thing with a thick layer of sarcasm and an outright refusal to engage with it isn't a great approach to

These lists are a little odd since you are only taking votes from 5 people.

I didn't say it was categorically useless but it didn't really deliver its description very well (I certainly don't see many people getting through 100 episodes in a weekend) but it is disappointing list if, like I said, you are British and you wanted a new series that wasn't a several month commitment to a crime

Well whether or not men need to actually put some groundwork in the fact is there is a huge disparity in the amount of funding put towards cancers that effect men and women and there is clearly an irony that we are now at a point in time where men are not given the adequate information about their sexual health. I'm

One thing that intrigues on this show is what it's trying to say about sexism. On the one hand it seems to be about how these women struggle to be taken seriously in medicine but on the other it seems to be almost mocking modern feminism.

I think this show could be good they just have to give it a real plot and do something other than "Stuart gets in one horribly awkward situation for the whole episode". I'm fine with it being awkward but it really needs some kind of progress. I don't really understand why he maintains his high standards and tries to

As far as I can tell there have been basically one person with a strong opinion who clearly has no idea what blackface used to be and so has come to believe that any use of it at all is racist.

I don't think anyone is getting particularly annoyed about it. Not that it would make sense. The problem with old school blackface is that it mocks black people and dehumanizes them. Simply making yourself look like a black person isn't inherently offensive and the show is clearly ridiculing the characters not

What I loved best about this episode is that a lot of the jokes required you to not only have seen Shaping America's Youth but also assumes that you know the characters well enough by now to understand the choices behind everything. Which played especially well when put against Mac over-explaining everything.
