I remember being more put off by the brother's bite issues than his hair. Cripes, couldn't his parents have put him in some braces and headgear for a couple years before shoving him out on TV in front of everyone?

I liked her during auditions, but that song was a trainwreck. If that's the best she could come up with in that situation, she had to go home.
Storyline!
At least one more of the people with a story made it through. The girl from the poor family who brought part of her school lunch home to feed her brother showed up in a celebratory group shot toward the end of the show, and in a preview of tonight's show. I don't think we actually saw her make it through…
Not really related to last night's show, but…
…it occured to me that Danny Gokey's BFF (the one with the pierced face) never showed up at auditions this year. I remember after he got cut (surpisingly, as I remember) last season, we speculated here that he would be back again next year. Shows what any of us know. He…
I'm not arguing with you, Cinco, but none of them have been nearly as bad at singing as the blind guy from last season, and look how far he made it. Then again, "I had an asthma attack when I was like 15" is not nearly as bad as "I can't fucking see", so maybe the blind guy deserved more benefit of the doubt.
Seriously Xaa? I missed that. Do you remember which contestent that was?
I had never really thought about it until this season, but the Boston episode was a giveaway too. They showed contestents sitting in the rain in what appeared to be the Patriots' stadium, which is several miles from Boston. But the individual auditions were held in a room that appeared to be actually hovering above…
Glad someone else noticed this. It made me laugh out loud. I'm sure it's not easy writing all those inane little intros and transitions but that one was especially bad.
Yep
"General Larry Platt, whose single "Pants on the Ground" will probably be reprised at the finale."
Raymond, I think you're onto something here. Your spelling of the c-word could even be used in spoken language. From now on I will pronounce it "soo-nyet". As in: "god, she is a real soo-nyet". Everyone would think it was some foreign curse word, but I would know the truth.
Touche, Tommy. I guess I should clarify that when my friends get together at someone's house (as opposed to a bar or whatever), it's usually to watch a game, play poker while watching a game, etc. So a set of rabbit ears that gets crappy reception for 2-3 channels just wouldn't cut it. I needs my ESPN, Fox Sports…
That was a great bit. I wonder if they broke the news to the old people afterwards. Did they have to sign consent forms after the fact to allow them to put them on TV? If so, did they tell them the moderator was actually Conan? Or did they figure it wouldn't be an issue since he comes on a good 3-4 hours after…
I have a TV and would never get rid of it, but the only reason I have cable is I'd be embarrased if my friends came over and I had to admit I didn't have cable for them to watch. Which is a really stupid reason to spend 70-some bucks a month, considering how rarely I actually have people over. Oh well, at least I…
After last night's show, I am actually looking forward to PJ's new album more than Will Ferrell's new movie. Which is weird considering I love WF's movies and haven't really like anything PJ has come out with in the past 10 years (maybe 15?). I thought the song they played last night sounded pretty decent. Maybe I…
Oh god, I had forgotten aobut the shitty original songs. Too bad for Danny - the sappy crap they always come up with would have been perfect for him.
This was the finale I've been hoping for too. It will be interesting to see how next week plays out - good contrast of styles.
Totally agree with this. For all of the judges' bitching about arrangements, none of them mentioned that Adam's Cryin was by far the worst arrangement of the night. He tried to fit too much of the song into 2 minutes, and as you said, the transitions seemed very jumpy and obvious.
"Adam, you've sung Cher and you've sung Queen. [pause for effect] What's next?"
I don't think I've gotten through all season. I don't vote every week, but any time I tried this season I just got a busy signal. Including last night when I watched the episode on DVR and didn't finish watching until past 11:30 Central time. I tried all of Adam's #'s and all of Kris #'s in an effort to stuff the…
I agree with Murray on all counts. I thought Kris did a pretty good job considering this is clearly not his genre. He found a cool song and did a good job of singing it more or less in his style.
