What I've noticed about these HateSongs is that a lot of them tend to cross over to misogyny… which kinda sucks because you should be judging the song and not the gender of the singer.

Some of that also comes from Buzzfeed's nostalgia, the sort of Neverland of the internet. Pandering to young adults that never want to grow up.

My little brother's still in middle school and pretty much everyone but him is, as 4Chan would say (though I'm against this term and using it semi-ironically), a "Swaggot." 
It's really kind of awful… the only reason why he isn't is because he's the other kind of modern-day teenager- the one who plays Minecraft, though…

I saw The Way Way Back. Pretty okay movie, but there's some fun trivia;
when my mom was a teenager, she worked at the Water Wiz, which just so happens to be the place where the film was set.
Also, listened to The Front Bottoms' Talon Of The Hawk, which is frickin' great. Especially "Twin Sized Mattress."

And that means if they knew they were beautiful, One Direction wouldn't go after them.
So in short, keep having low self-esteem, teenage girls!
