I take it you don't listen to Ben Folds?

I will never get tired of these. Ever.

I know it's impossible, but I just thought…
"A thousand years ago, people worshipped gods, and built sand sculptures in their honor. One of them is a grotesque humanoid creature, whose name is either Gollum or Smeagol. We do not know which name he used, for the sacred text supposedly entitled Lord of The Rings was lost

Don't we all.

All of you who hate Mumford have to listen to Laura Marling (he was part of her backing band, and for the first two albums they performed together before the Sons got big.) Insanely talented, and is pretty much alt-folk done right.
(of course, she's still not as good as Dawes, because nothing on this great planet

Chris Brown, I didn't know you went on the AV Club!

I'm sorry, but these character designs seem very Crood to me.

Tangentially Related Christian Music story:
I was trying to get Still by Daughter on Spotify, and I got Still Praising by Daughter of Zion by accident. It's actually the most generic rap beat ever, and then reallly awful christian rap lyrics. Seriously, look it up- it's fucking awful.

Nope, just people trying to cash in on nostalgia/reviving products, though I'm wondering why it's stuff from 9 years ago. I mean come on, they couldn't just wait until next year? the decade?

A book about the making of The Room is supposedly coming out in October… that's pretty epic cinema if you ask me.

That new poster is fucking amazing.

Why didn't I know about this conversation a year ago?
(she's coming out with a new album in May that's 16 tracks long and stars with a 15 minute medley. fuck yeah.)

I remember hearing Middle Cyclone by her on a Starbucks collection called "Have You Heard?" Fantastic song.
(it also had Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, and Blind Pilot … pretty damn prophetic, even if they were already gaining popularity around the time the compilation was released.)

DAMMIT!  beat (bee-t?) me to it.

Not really a panic attack, per se; she was just very shaken by the violence.

Apparently radiohead did Alt-J's Breezeblocks once, though I can't seem to find proof of that…

I like him. He's not really the revelation people say he is, but I hear good things about his performing, and I wanted to know if that was true. (Also, Can't Pretend is epic.)
(BTW, the first comment "Did any of you see…" was mine. I signed into my disqus account instead of my AV Club account)

Really don't like Karmin. Especially the song of theirs called Hello where the chorus rips off Smells Like Teen Spirit (of all the songs in the world- half their audience probably doesn't even know what Nirvana is.)
And your description ("goofy theater kid versions of pop rap hits") was absolutely perfect, even though

AdBlock Plus FTW.

"In a move almost as surprising (but not nearly as deadly) as the meteor collision that eradicated the dinosaurs"
Too soon, Austin Bernhardt. too soon.
