Ebert has long argued for the simple requirement that all voters see all the movies. It's not much to ask.

Approval voting is the best method of voting by a long way. IRV has some really wacky and unpredictable behavior, and also has a tendency to collapse to plurality in the real world (Australia uses IRV, but hasn't really helped third parties any). Approval voting is simple and eliminates all the spoiler problems. There…
Seems unlikely.
The pro-suicide singers are mostly full of shit, is why. It's like the opposite of the "you can't make an anti-war war movie" rule. You can't make a pro-suicide song, because you have to be around to enjoy the royalties.
Aw, Edmund. The ending is so romantic!
I like the game reviews here. It's certainly true that they are not up to the standards of the industry - but if I wanted that I'd go read the reviews at a dedicated gaming site. They provide a basic feeling of the game, and the way the reviewer responded to it. And yeah, the whole book review / car review thing…
I've been here for years, and I've never stooped to a firsty. I've even waited to comment on articles because I didn't want to dirty myself that way.
I really enjoyed that 20 minutes of Flightplan. What Jodie Foster knows is so huge and so simple - that she brought her kid on the plane. But she's bombarded with all this evidence that she's wrong. And the way Foster acts the self-doubt and frustration and terror of that tension was powerful and engrossing.

Kevin is full of shit
MIT gives full scholarships to every student. They are means-adjusted, but don't reflect any academic (or athletic) achievement. Except for, y'know, getting into MIT. If you're at MIT and have a full scholarship, it just means your parents are poor.
I read all the way to the end of the comments.
And no one got maced.
Firefly is a western.
The Unit had a respectable run, and was cancelled several seasons after Glau left, no? It's a real stretch to say that had anything to do with her.
ZMF makes me happy.
Yes
Yes.
Why the hell would Willie say no to "hey Willie, we want you to do what you normally do, only we'll pay you"?
U2 are just fine. If I went to see them at a local show for $5, I'd be really happy with the quality of the music. I'm completely baffled why they are huge rock stars.
Talking of self-referential, the discussion of mexican standoffs reminded me of reservoir dogs' iconic scene (yes, I have seen City on Fire).
I think you could argue that making a film about philial love between men is a feminist act.
I think you missed the central theme
It's about the catharsis of violence in film. The key moment of the movie is when we go from watching nazis watch Goebbel's movie, which consists entirely of anonymous Americans getting massacred, to watching anonymous Germans get massacred, shot from above by the basterds. Yes,…
