Yup, that pairing of episodes with the Boxer Rebellion was superb.

Yeah, I don't see that arc in season 4. The best episode is in the middle, the last 3 episodes have 2 good and one terrible, and fear itself in this first half is pretty great. I'd say it's more just all over the place in terms of quality.

Angel Minor Sub-Plot Spoiler

I'm not sure Noel is claiming that Parker's behavior is implausible. It's the romantic way that Buffy pines for him like they had a relationship. The girls I know that have been fucked over by one-night stands have reacted with emotions like "I'm such a moron, I hate myself" and "all men are assholes, that guy

So hot for Wednesday Adams. Still. Is that wrong?

Shit, call me undiscriminating, but I fucking love it all. I know on some intellectual level that beer bad isn't great tv. But I'm still watching Buffy and that makes me very happy.

As soon as they mentioned the challenge I said "Anita will kick ass."

Love Anita Lo
and hope she wins the whole thing. 2nd choice is Hubert. I'd like to note I believe she not only beat the other contestants this week, but got the highest score of any chef this season. I also think it's telling that even the most devious editing in reality tv could not have hidden her win - clearly the

I mostly don't like it when he works with other people's material. Planet of the Apes, Sweeney Todd, Willy Wonka were all huge misses in my book. I like most of the rest of his work.

Yup, as they listed the for the makers of movies at the end, I was thinking of all the fucking great movies that didn't even make the list.

You're right, superb.

I also think Richardson's worship is supposed to be a comment on religion in general - his horns do about as much good in helping William as anyone's Christianity does, the latter dismissed so effectively by Doc as you mentioned.

I am English
And so is my mum. We both adore the West Wing. It's my third favorite show (after the also very American Deadwood and The Wire).

Amazing Essay
tracking the explosion of Hallelujah, and about the use of incidental music in tv in general, here:

Duplicity?
As in the Clive Owen / Julia Roberts vehicle that no one seemed to like very much?

Buffy's smarts
The thing I find annoying about Buffy's academic prowess is that the show is terminally undecided on the topic. One week she's at risk of failing high school, the next she aces the SATs. Sure, this week she's humiliating herself in psych class, but in a couple of weeks (really minor spoiler) she does

Green cards don't expire and aren't tied to any job, texasannie, unless you live outside of the country for extended periods of time. However, you have to spend 3-5 years in the country before you can apply for them. I'm not sure if it's ever made clear how long Giles has been in the US. You need a reason to be in the

I had a dream a couple of nights ago in which Clea DuVall fucked me in a swimming pool. It was a nice dream. True story.

Andrew? Doesn't everyone hate him? Why does he get to be in the van?

Buffy v Dracula is bizarre as a season premier, I think. It feels more like a stand-alone episode - a Christmas special, perhaps. Watching it the second time through, I enjoy it. Watching it originally after waiting so long for new Buffy, it was really disappointing.
