First off, Joseph, it's "Oh God, You Devil" and it is one of the most realistic portrayals of the afterlife that's ever been put on film.

I still don't think Christian was claimed by Smokey, or Jacob for that matter - I think there's another force at work.
I think you're on to something there, but I don't think Jacob failed in the sideways world, he is just going about things in a different way. We're still seeing these characters meet and interact, meaning that they are still tied together in some way, suggesting Jacob is still at work.
I'm going to call it now and say that Sawyer somehow cons Smokey and ends up pulling a Larry Underwood in the end.
I like the Smokey scanning explanation a lot.
I'm beginning to think free will vs. destiny may not be the concepts we should be paying attention to, but instead faith vs. reason. The story of Locke is a story of faith, and in contrast it seems that UnLocke is a man of unquestioning reason. He doesn't ask people to follow him on blind faith, but instead explains…
I'm really intrigued by the concept of "home" to UnLocke. I wonder if home for him is even a where, but possibly a what.
I think so to - namely I think the Island is responsible for some of the apparations.
That's a good theory, espeically considering the backgammon reference.
I think the cave was formerly Jacob's, since he wrote the numbers. I'm also guessing that we'll get some further explanation of the Numbers, possibly why those names/numbers, but not some deep analysis of what each number means.
I think it's interesting that it was only last names - which leaves room for speculation on Christian Shephard and Ji Yeon Kwon.
Who was that kid?
That was the number one question of this episode for me. First he appeared with bloody hands, then to remind Smokey of the rules. The way Smokey talks about Jacob being the Island's protector, the more I think there may be an entity even higher than Smokey and Jacob, maybe even the Island itself.
I feel left out
I still haven't see the The Room, but this made me laugh considerable. I will spend every waking hour trying to track it down.
One of my friends is a whiskey lovin' drunk who loses it every time he hears "Lawyers, Guns and Money"
Started out hustlin, ended up ballin
Werewolf Pirates has been tied up in red tape since early 1996.
His hair was perfect.
Do you believe in curses?
I WILL KILL ALL OF YOU!!!!!
When you put it that way, I think we're forgetting a major player in the omniscience department - the Island itself. I've always thought the Island is some kind of time puddle. Everything is happening at once, it just all depends on what coordinates you enter.
My favorite Jack.
