Honestly, I'm terrified the show might still pair Ryan and Lauren up, something I have absolutely no interest in. Last week's episode didn't stop those worries, instead it just made me think, "oh, but charming Ryan is different than the others, just like he says he is, which will be proved when it becomes more obvious

Pretty sure all-nighters are common in every field of study ever as long as you care about what you're studying or intend to pass/do well. I just thought your comment was a little weird considering how science is so integral to film in particular, which is the art you contrasted it to in the first place. I wasn't

We're all heros, McRib. We're all heroes.
Yeah, I know! I'm super excited to be trying for a career in the arts! Any second now, I know I'm gonna be grabbed up. Then, of course, I'll get paid in buckets.
Also, you're right, culture sucks.

Yeah, nothing in the arts requires science or math, right? I mean, none of it requires having knowledge of and control over color, light, chemicals, structure, reactions between substances or any sort of planning, precision, or effort. Nobody smart ever does art or studies it and it isn't significant at all!

I think I need you to hide the key to the optical printer, burn my Barthes books, and buy me a beer. And also, insult me, because HOW ELSE WILL I LEARN TO HATE MYSELF?

Oh shit, I've been doing art school wrong! This weekend, I pulled 3 all-nighters in a row (thank you! also, I keep seeing cats my peripheral) and all of them took place in the lab… It's not uncommon. I like to call these "art parties."
Yeah, I'm kind of sad.

AHH, when is this show coming back??!

No, hold strong! Cougar Town and Happy Endings! I'll meet you here next year for the best weekly hour of friends just hangin' out.

It was in the talks, but didn't make it through in the end. (But it did get a spot on the stage a couple years ago!)

To be fair, it won for some sort of supposedly groundbreaking story involving a trans man. So, um, I guess it actually did something…

Aw, man, did you try Tale of Two Sisters? That was my introduction to the guy, and I'm glad for it. Some super-solid compositions and lots of layers of dark confusion.

Ah, because Asians make better movies. Also, it's strange, while American gross-out horror tends to be exploitative, a lot of Asian horror involving violence generally suggests instead of outright showing, which I think has an odd psychological effect on viewers. There's an art there.

Agreed. At first I was angry, then I saw the potential, and I'm not sure where this leaves me.

All I know is, you can't eat one donut and lick the other.

The ludacrises are coming in nicely this year

(or, can I make myself feel decently-read and say *exits weeping*?)

sorry sorry my bad
(wrong thread)

well, technically, all their thoughts would have to be gay, including the ones with Paul Rudd in 'em… (the contents of those thoughts, however… that's a different story!)

Man, I can't decide who wore it best, but I'm digging Diane Keaton's vest (no homo).
