Marnie has been a hot mess for TWO seasons. I felt like the writers were trying to put her back on track and have her focus more on herself, but her priorities are still really messed up.

I loved when Hannah told Zosia to hold her questions until intermission and then promptly fell asleep.
If you think about it, Shosh's failure to graduate in May is not THAT big of a deal. She's 3 credits short and can retake the course over the summer, then graduate in August. It's not like she had a job lined up that she HAD to start June 1 or something. It's actually kind of weird that Shoshanna hasn't been looking…
Hannah does not do well with magazine tutorials. First the awful Carey Mulligan-inspired haircut, now the awful Olivia Wilde eyes. It's definitely harder than it looks, but Hannah has absolutely no self-awareness.
Hmmm. I actually like most of the characters on this show despite how frequently they are assholes, but I may be in the minority.
I'm a college senior, too, so I totally feel for her, but I find it hard to believe she had NO idea she was failing.
I don't think likeability is a prerequisite for empathy.
I wasn't disagreeing with you, just adding that the dysfunction was consistent throughout the season. I absolutely agree they hinted at it.
Hannah was horrible at balancing carrer + Adam. When her career was going great she took him for granted. When she felt unfulfilled at the GQ job, she clung to him desperately.
Zosia Mamet crushes whatever the writers give her, but I'm increasingly convinced that the writers have no idea what to do with her anyway, which is so frustrating.
I usually agree with your views on the show, Todd, but I feel like this finale just underlines how wayward this season was. It feels like a bunch of different shows that are trying to be the same show but just aren't and can't be.
This episode was horrifying and I'm so angry Beverly is dead. Of course she had to die, but it feels awful and next week seems awful on that front, too. I'm enjoying seeing Will get back some agency, but I agree the female characters on this show, while wonderful, could be a lot more developed.
Does Homeland's "Q&A" interrogation count? Those takes were 25 minutes long.
This was back when TV was a stepping stone into film, and the latter was superior to the former, which is not really the case today.
Sometimes she gives looks to Saul and it's like the looks she'd give to Patty.
Actually, all the producers have come out and said that ABC used Danes' unwillingness to go on as a convenient excuse to cancel it. In reality, the show was ignored and beat around by the network executives. The pilot was made in 1993 and not picked up until a full year later. ABC had no idea how to advertise it (this…
She chose him in the finale, but you're right, we don't know who she chose in the ULTIMATE end.
I don't know, I like the Christmas episode. It's incredibly corny and silly, yes, but I think kind of sweet. I like the fight Angela has with her mom and that everyone sort of rallied around Rickie. The real-life story of Wilson Cruz also enhances my appreciation for it.
Carrie/Quinn is the new Angela/Brian.
I always think I love Brian, but then I remember he started the rumor that Jordan and Angela slept together in like the third episode. I still love how combative the Angela/Brian relationship was: "You're so heartless!" "I'm heartless? How ironic can you get without, like, puking!"
