Paris was also in charge of a lot of committees - the paper, student council, etc. - so they could have been just trying to stay in her favor that way. You DO NOT want the wrath of Paris to come down on you.

@avclub-0108709d613bc1d1db7e5c2b5f02c657:disqus The issue I had with the graduation was that there was basically no repercussions for Rory for taking off a semester from Yale in the middle of her degree. In fact she became the editor-in-chief of the paper just a few weeks later! That didn't make any sense and seemed…
I thought Digger could go toe-to-toe with Lorelai, but he was kind of the male version of Lorelai and therefore that relationship always felt icky to me.
I recently watched season 7 and kind of grew to accept the return to Christopher. The writers didn't really have a choice after the S6 finale, and I thought it was interesting to see how that relationship worked because in many ways Christopher was a better partner for Lorelai than Luke was. I thought it made sense…
Interesting analogy. If Trix and Richard are Lorelai and Rory, then I think Emily would be the Logan of the situation. And Trix didn't like Emily because she felt Emily wasn't good enough for Richard. So Emily could be either Jess or Logan. Does this make Dean Pennilyn Lott? And then maybe (analogy) Luke is Lorelai?
That's a great point. And that was a well they went back to time and again throughout the series. For example, Rory agreeing to a debutante ball in S2 and especially her entire relationship with Logan, whose family and privilege represented everything Lorelai despised. I always found that conflict compelling.
Yes and one assignment would could for FIFTY PERCENT of your final grade or something ridiculous like that. Not that outrageous for college, but for high school, definitely.
I've always felt like if the guy wasn't Luke he was pretty much disliked.
It's also possible that Rory did in fact not catch up on the reading and it showed. I still take issue with the fact that Madeline got a B, Louise got an A, and Rory got a D, especially considering their later characterization.
I have trouble believing that Rory, who was in a HUGE rush, would actually stop and get out of the car for 10 or 15 minutes (the amount of time she was late to the test by) to go looking for a dear. Is it supposed to signify how much she cares about other stuff? That always frustrated me.
Ok, I liked Max. COME AT ME.
Maybe so. Either way I see more fans of the show on this site than any other. I always enjoy reading more positive reviews for shows I really love. I agree that the amount of love Todd has for this show is odd. Rose-tinted glasses and all that.
Mad Men is much more accessible than Girls. And I mean that in the physical sense (Girls is on pay cable, MM is not) and in the intellectual sense. Sometimes I read reviews of Girls episodes and think "huh, I just didn't get that?" Does that make me less smart than these TV critics bending over backwards for this show?
I absolutely loved season 1 of Girls, but season 2 has been much more of a mixed bag. Some episodes I've loved ("It's a Shame About Ray," "One Man's Trash") and others I've been decidedly more mixed on ("Bad Friend"). For the most part the episodes have been in the B range for me. I laugh out loud often during the…
Don't forget that someone must answer the phone and Don must say "What?"
Is Dunham attempting to tell this story in three acts, with each season acting as its own act? That's certainly an interesting strategy. It's been a while since I've taken an English class, but maybe she's trying to do the hero archetype tale. Maybe the second season is the descent into hell and she'll somehow come up…
Well I'm no longer calling this show a comedy.
I agree with this. Remember at the beginning of the season when Hannah and Jessa were in the park with all the puppies (such lighthearted fare compared to this darkness) and she told Jessa that having sex with Donald Glover was nice because she didn't feel like shit or hate herself afterward?
I don't know, I feel physically and mentally exhausted after watching these episodes. 10 episodes is enough for me. But I think the third season order is 12 episodes.
