The paltry, single mention of Lonerism has been rightly called out. Less excusable is the failure to celebrate Ariel Pink's Haunted Grafitti's best album to date! You're on notice, AV Club ballots!

Disagreed! Rosie Oh might be my fave song on the album!
Agreed! Lonerism is probably my fave album of the year!

Y'all are missing the real tragedy here: no noms for Bob Dylan, Neil Young & Crazy Horse and Patti Smith and Leonard Cohen, who collectively turned in some of the best albums of 2012. This is ridiculous oversight by the same Grammies who habitually laud late-period Steely Dan and the like.

YES IT SURE DOES! As Mark Prindle pointed out in his review, it's exactly like What's Going On, except cleaning up Greg Norton's purposeful wrong note.

Muzzle is kind of the most "innocence-to-experience" tune on the album. It certainly feels evocative of that late adolescent discovery period. Might be my fave conventional tune on the album (though I've also considered XYU and, strangely, Through the Eyes of Ruby favorites at times).

It doesn't replace the 60/70s psych rock it embodies, but because it's a more addictively fun listen than any other 2012 release that I can think of, it may deserve the A anyways.

I happen to enjoy the shit out of those fills, but I see your point.

What ErikaeBatayz said, especially as far as sourcing where Tame Impala got their groove.

Hell yes. On one hand [SPOILERS] maybe it's a touch contrived that the ONE car our protagonist chooses as a getaway happens to be the ONE car that the mad killer waited in, but otherwise, in tone and execution that movie kicks serious ass. F is for 'Fraid to go hiking in Australia!

In a recent discussion about all-time favorite concerts, I realized that the one Massive Attack show I got to see in 2006 (with a full complement of guest vocalists) was definitely one of the greatest live spectacles I've ever witnessed.
