How…how is that not what it's doing now?

Hey, it's not like Hellblazer didn't have dog fucking.

Too tired to comment about the episode now, but I thought I'd mention this show is guaranteed renewal this year, thanks to syndication. Hope the writers make the most of it.

Why? It isn't like her parents don't always deserve the sarcasm.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and several other commentors whose names I can't remember and don't feel like going to the effort of looking up for convincing me not waste my money on Preacher.

"He is attracted to both men and women."

"The idea that this show is somehow bound by comic book chronology when it comes to matters of Constantine's sexuality is ludicrous on its face."

Hmmm, pretty sure he literally said he hated but it could have been interesting if he was by, and I was referring to you with the other half of my comment. Don't think I'm the one that needs reading comprehension skills.

Personally I'd rather we didn't have commentators who are such crusaders for social justice they can't enjoy a straight character and then tell people to go hell for disagreeing with them, but whatever floats you boat.

Yeah, seeing him recruit his friend through blackmail, that's the bastard I liked in the comics.

Yeah, all the dripping blood and horrific death sure made the first half look like an arrested development episode.

Not a bad start. It was nice to see they weren't holding back on the dark tone. Hopefully we see Elly before to long.

Cough*Hannibal*cough

Riiiiiiight. Judging character's by sexual preference is only ridiculous when they're straight.

Buy dangerous habits, the start of Ennis' s run. If you don't like that, the series isn't worth your time.

Hell, this episode's CoTW was sub-Dick Wolfe. Those lawyers at least acknowledge that a jury is already going to know what nullification is no matter what they do.

I don't know the law, but that really doesn't sound like how it would work.

With male anti-heros, the dynamic is usually 'I can't just kill my wife like I can with my other problems (Soprano's, Breaking Bad), so what do I do'.

Ok, so while we're on the subject of domestic abuse, it isn't 'dumb' that courts ask for either testimony or evidence in order to prove abuse. That is how a legal system based on the concepts of innocent until proven guilty and the right to confront your accuser work. What alternative is there?

This was honestly the stupidest part of the episode for me. The guy is a cop, so he's probably in shape and has a history of beating his wife. Have these people not heard of strangling? The hell her life wasn't in danger at that moment.
