I don't really see how a character going along with an escape plan she had no part in planning and almost no part in executing as 'demonstrating agency'.

Well, that's my point. What dramatic stakes does your book have when it shrugs off a major battle like it's no big thing?

If the life and death struggle of ofour of your major characters is 'beside the point' of the books, I'd say that reflects poorly on you book.

People talk about the revolution like it was black and white!

It turns out Robin and the mother were the same person.

I think your taking the 'clumsy exposition' scene to seriously. Yes, Thorne knew Aemon grew up in King's Landing, it was just a one liner.

I really don't see how an outside character planning your entire escape for you and just going along with it qualifies as 'having agency'.

CBS shows, may be older skewing, but that doesn't mean they don't have a lot of young people watching too. If it wasn't for all the extra sports and special events NBC runs, they'd be the #1 network.

Person of Interest, The Good Wife, and Elementary are three reasons.

Yeah. This show is still good spinning it's wheels, but Miller Ifans just had the best chemistry.

Oh, come on man, there's no way putting in too much fanservice could ever ruin a Sherlock Holmes adaptation.

So the treasure hunt from Mycroft was clearly a ploy to get him out of New York like his old plan. I've read online that Mycroft is supposed to be back for four more episodes this season, so it looks like it's time for the more serialized part of the plot to pick up.

Sorry AV Club, but the we will burn this site to the ground before we let Hannibal beat Game of Thrones!

THANK YOU.

One of which war IM3 no less.

I didn't really HATE Black Widow in the Avengers, but she was definitely the most useless character. You could tell how much they were reaching to allow her to contribute to the plot. That thing with Loki's staff at the end…come on Whedon, you're better than that.

They don't really have his son. He's out there on his own.

What? Can you speak English?

Cough, Arrow, cough Person of interest, cough.

I don't remember that particular scene, but if there is one where an alien actually manages to hit a target that's good.
