It's not a concept album, it's just an album. Any attempt to nail a narrative arc or unified conceptual theme to the tracklist is thus doomed to failure.

Damn. I kinda liked the chaotic nature of the AV club, with stuff all over the place so you never quite knew what you'd find or where. Now we've got the Game thing and this new comedy channel. Dull. let me browse the bargain bin instead of marching down those serried ranks of neatly labelled niche and genre shelves.

Langham's been in a lot of good stuff. Regrettably, his conviction for unacceptable behaviour means that none of this appears on British TV anymore because rebroadcasting the programmes because that would result in a tabloid uproar about the BBC paying royalties to paedos. Damn shame for all the other people involved

Back in the 70s there was a great UK music paper called Sounds. It was more exciting than Melody Maker and less faddish than the NME. Then Garry Bushell took it over and fucked up the arse until it bled to death by turning it into an Oi! fanzine. I fucking hated him for that, and by association I hated Oi! too. Burn

I spent an unfeasibly long time convinced that The Sopranos was an overhyped piece of shite. This misapprehension began when I tuned in half-way through season one to see what the fuss was about and caught the goofy parp-parp oompah-oompah episode where Tony plays golf with his neighbours. It wasn't a great

Did no one mention the mystical black man yet?

Bless you for bringing the miracle of Roy Thinnes back into my life. It was too long since he had been in my thoughts.

What's up with Billy Crystal's face these days? Has he had a stroke? The poor bastard looked like a Thunderbirds puppet.

I think this is what's generally considered a 'subjective viewpoint', DDB, but thanks for your input. I hadn't actually listened to the track since about 1995 when I posted my original comment, but prompted by your critique, I gave it another spin courtesy of YouTube. I have to admit that the accompanying video left

Did someone say Nausicaa Dub? That sounds wicked, maaaan. Is it by Bill Laswell?

I haven't seen this yet, having missed the all too brief UK release. The point of this comment is to urge one and all to READ THE BOOKS. There are five in total, four from the 1950s and a surprise late addition added to the series some 30 years later. These are beautiful stories, full of incident, rich in character
