Thinner is interesting. The first four Bachman books (as well as Blaze, which was eventually redone and published as a Bachman, and Sword in Darkness, which has never been published other than a brief excerpt) were marked by a lack of supernatural elements. Running Man and The Long Walk, obviously are SF(or

Holy Ghost Writers

That is Derleth's biggest sin. Lovecraft's universe was a perfect example of what the folks over at TV Tropes have labeled "Orange and Blue Morality"

@flagonthemoon:disqus Are you saying that Lovecraft's Dreamlands stuff doesn't work? Because I've always found the Dreamlands stories to be some of his better writing. "Dreamquest of Unknown Kadath" in particular is awesome, an actual action/adventure fantasy epic suffused with HPL's signature brand of alien

There is a Derleth story called "The Lonesome Place" that I would recommend to anyone who like a spooky tale

@avclub-717729ce391c20ef3e722c3e6ef79a58:disqus The quote I've always heard from his wife was that he was "a thoroughly adequate lover", which may be damning with faint praise, but doesn't indicate any sort of fear of sex.

How in the world is "Shadow out of Time" ook-monsters? It's a much better SF story than Colour out of Space, and is probably a better story than ATMOM.

Nah. He's building quite a good name for himself on his own.

I can see Gerald's Game as the Bachman book more than Dolores Claiborne. DC is just such a perfect distillation of Stephen King's Maine. Rose Madder is too fantastical for Dickie's style. The stories in Just After Sunset could be Bachmans.

I was semi-seriously hoping for an IT sequel, given that he's made it pretty clear through subsequent references that The Losers didn't really kill It in '85, just stopped It's physical form.

No, but it stopped being funny.

Not my dad… "No gay son of mine is a not gay! You better get gay or I'll make you gay!"

Since Rabin left, the voice of Lesbianism has been silent on this site.

@avclub-8b5e7836dd068601d1d820b4147fde37:disqus You're being purposely obtuse, I think.

@facebook-100000359297466:disqus Exactly. It was a great leap to have a show with a lesbian lead that was just as awful and boring and unfunny as the shows with straight leads.

When WILL Billy Crystal finally come out??

@avclub-976e5a7c9f5586745269c99891652285:disqus Wyoming?

He was actually quite pleased with the movie. I think there's a letter from him to Zemeckis on one of the discs wherein he tells Zemeckis how happy he was that the DMC-11 was chosen for the time machine.

SPOILER!!!

If this had been a real movie, you would have been entertained
