I don't think that a lack of support for updates in consoles is anything that should neuter PC games, it's a medium that has a lot more room for development, add-ons, and mods and etc, and games that have that kinda implicit in them (like multiplayer FPS) should own up to that. And with the introduction of things

Yeah
I think the malefactors of the Sgt. Hatred subplots are really missing some of the point — the pedophile jokes are there, but I think it's pushing Sgt. Hatred as an essentially flawed but good guy. He has the best interest out for the Ventures, but he gets the 'urges'. It's kinda like Jonny Quest and his

I figured you guys were aiming to let the commenters take the reigns f the discussion, but I was kinda hoping it'd be a longer list! I'm assuming this is the only list you're doing for video games, and the others this week will be the other 'niche' mediums, i.e. comics?

Seriously on HL ep 3, they had those teaser pictures of the boat and all sorts of shit forever ago. They had a DECENT rhythm with Ep 1 and 2 now where's 3 dammit!

Jonny Quest's first episode featured the frogmen prominently.

Asides I'm not saying it's like the game sucks, or it's a huge injustice, it's just -dubious-.

Of course nothing's going to change, but that's not really an 'argument' for just ignoring something. Like 'oh whatever, it happened, just live with it' it's a meritorious thing to look at!

Completely different games, released over way larger gaps of time. I like the whole, Glenn Beck style argument thing you got going on there angry nerd. Sorry not all of us are basement/college dorks who don't have to think about the cost of things!

Yo it's legit of a complaint though.

The thing though, is that they -did- exactly that with Team Fortress 2, with a bunch of updates through Steam. So it's not like it's not plausible, or it's not what they'd been doing in the past. They made the same promises on both TF2 and L4D, and while TF2 still gets content updates, Left 4 Dead instead gets a

Woop
I like the list, but it could have been a little longer! There's been so many strong video games going into the last decade, especially considering that a decade IS essentially 1/3rd of the life of the video game industry. 15 seems kinda short.

Wonder Boy
Turned 18 and kicked to the curb for the new model. Somebody totally called this from the promo picture, can't remember who.

Seriously
What happened to the updates from the first Left4Dead? I mean, people sunk maybe 50 dollars into Team Fortress 2 as part of the Orange Box with the HL2 series and Portal, and have gotten an insane amount of updates, meanwhile you pump 50 dollars into Left4Dead by itself, and you get left high and dry with

I thought that Modern Family and Arrested development always had to be compared, not Community and Modern Family. What's up AVClub, stay consistent! Write a doctrine, like the political parties.

Cute
Awww @ Ty Burrell and his dad. :( It's nice to see a show that's celebratory of the family dynamic, even in situations where it isn't perfect or nuclear. Family's still important/radical :)

Replace Fall Out Boy with like, Creed.

bout time
Control is probably the best song on the album. Thehoodinternet.com did a really banging mash-up of it too, with Phonat. I'm so glad this album's finally dropping, I've been anticipating it all year!

I don't think he was -raped-, probably just aggressively cuddled. That said, next episode's preview seems to set up Sgt. Hatred for a lapse back into being a broken down alcoholic pedophile man.

I've loved all I needed to love — sordid details following.

What a great episode!
I really liked a lot of the exposition, the bringing back of Phantom Limb not as an actual menace but just a deranged crazy, actually getting to see Phantom Limb without a mask and a crazy scraggly gunslinger look, all of the Hatred lines (Sgt. Hatred is so radical), Dean and Dr. Venture bonding,
