Thank you for reminding me of actual comedy instead of …. whatever ungodly abomination this show has become.

Every time I see a video of him playing, I'm absolutely transfixed. He's on that level of talent where even though I've never had any inclination to do what he does, I still feel regret and emptiness watching him be so good at it.

I'm torn on Futurama. On one hand, bringing the show back gave us "The Late Philip J. Fry" and "Lethal Inspection". On the other hand, it gave us the Twitter/iPhone episode and a bunch of stuff I haven't really found overall quotable. I tentatively wish they wouldn't have brought it back, but they could have done a

"Bully" was
the best half-hour of television I watched all year. All six seasons of The Office combined didn't have as much awkward cringe as that one episode.

"It's not cool to admit you're lame, Mom."
"Well then, how the hell do you be cool?"

Daah, they got it backwards!
If they wanted that Oscar, he should have been mentally handicapped, not precocious and a little too smart for his own good! So close, and yet …. and yet.

No lie, I just saw The Wild Bunch for the first time yesterday
I enjoyed it plenty well just on its own merits, in a vacuum. With the historical and political context Leonard added, I see I need to go back and revisit it. I have a feeling it will get better with repeat viewings. I have a lot to add to my Netflix queue

First season is on Netflix Instant
drop what you're doing and go watch it

[warning: spoilers] [in case you care about that kind of thing]

Not their first ejaculation joke
From "Future Stock":

"it's never in doubt that these kids … [are] smarter than everyone around them"
This is exactly why I hate this fucking garbage show with a fiery passion. This is not the kind of shit kids need to pick up on. It's of a kind with Wizards of Waverly Place, which I frequently hear compared to Blackadder. Which is all

Groo is a mendicant.

If you've never heard it, go listen to "Spaghetti Cowboy" on OCRemix. Pretty epic.

Shouldn't that say "the appropriately named The Forgotten"?
It would be more ironic if it was called The Remembered. Or if everyone fondly remembered The Forgotten.

do Criminal Minds
My wife loves that show and I don't know a single other person who watches it or has even heard of it.

Yeah, Due Date sounds like a real winner. "Let's remake Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, except let's turn the big good-hearted John Candy guy into the passive-aggressive socially retarded kind of dickhammer that exists nowhere on the spectrum of actual reality."

What about the gym leader Blaine from Pokemon Red/Blue? Wait, he was the fire gym leader …. fire = flaming …. yeah, no, never mind, still no straight Blaines.

Wow. For Jean-Luc Ponty? Really? That's the last thing I expected to learn on the AV Club today. Since my mind is blown and Randy's a douche, I'm turning this into a Ponty appreciation thread.
