I would start with Lifes Rich Pageant
Then move to Murmur.

They should have Stewart wear the Metallica shirt now.

@The Liker: Can't recall if Document had the cute side labels. But wasn't the "Fables" side-labeling "A Side" and "Another Side"? ..

I like Klosterman quite a bit. "Cocoa Puffs" was the first thing I read, and wanted to read more, eventually checking "IV," "Fargo" and "Killing Yourself" in that order. Haven't read the novel. Liked "Eating the Dinosaur" a lot.

"Slacker"
Others mentioned "Dazed and Confused" and "Before Sunrise," but the Linklater "right time" for me is definitely "Slacker."

"Midnite Vultures is a tiring album…. " … I think that describes it better than I could.

Ah, yes, Camper — didn't leap immediately to mind, but should have.

Love the concept
I haven't read all the posts yet. I'll get to that.

I think 71-75 was the first album I bought with my own money (yeah, I'm old).

I actually didn't mind the "Big Yellow Taxi" cover.

I actually didn't mind the "Big Yellow Taxi" cover.

It's very, very, very very terrible.

Morrison had some bad ones, but Krieger had the obvious ones (and the big hits) — check the lyrics to "Light My Fire" and "Touch Me."

I give credit for the commercial/commercial repeat, because that didn't immediately come to mind. That does stand out like a sore thumb.

Didn't Guterman argue something like, "every artist should buck expectations from time to time," but that Reed took it a little too far with MMM?

Made it all the way through the clip!

The "Metal Machine" clip above is my first foray into the album, after reading about it many times.

Extra points in this review for …
"prolificacy."

Firstie?
My firstie firstie, then.

I agree about "Every Night" (haven't heard unplugged version).
