So…take your theme from a well-known piece of classical music, often with minimal change in instrumentation, and that's original. Write a completely new score but have the director add a few pieces of pre-existng music to titles or to set a scene, and that's unoriginal. Got it.

That is what is called a false equivalence. Just because we can't be certain about some things doesn't make all beliefs about them equally valid. Kate Beaton lets the occasional spelling mistake slip through, but it's never as bad as "farse". That, and her comics are so good I would love them even if she couldn't spell her own name.
