Really, who cares?  I accept that there is manipulation going on — in fact, I watch a show like Survivor in order to be manipulated.  That's the enjoyment of it.  So if it's done well (as it certainly was here), I say good show, and thanks for entertaining me.

Probst's TC reaction shots were freaking priceless.  At first, complete shock.  But it was the second shot of him that sent me into hysterics — after he takes a second to process what he's seeing, he gets this glint in his eye that seems to say "I am about to tear these morons a new one."  He looked like he'd been

Agreed with all you said.  Just for the sake of posterity, I feel I should point out that Abe borrowed that phrase from Satchel Paige's "Rules for Staying Young" (Collier's, June 13, 1953):

All the more reason to stick around for the comeuppance.

Best line of the show

It was a good listen.  That said….no tie, Simmons?  Blue jeans? Were you pretending to be a farmer?

Thanks, I'd hate to think it overstayed its welcome.

I was 13 when we first got cable TV in 1979 and, being 13, I furtively scanned the late-night Movie Channel listings for anything that might be potential…uh…appointment viewing.  Whaddaya know, there was "Sextette" at 2:45 AM, just sitting there like a quarter by the side of the road.  I didn't even need a thumbnail

Are there more Films That My World Of Flops Forgot Was Already A Film That Time Forgot?  I think a Primer is in order here….

I'd love to find another UYD out there.  Much as I enjoy the popular slate of guest-driven comedy podcasts, the humor in them tends to derive from a conscious attempt to get audience laughs.  And hey, when it works it's great.  But I need some leavening from that approach sometimes, and the heartfelt rapport between

That said, I thought Bill's fake bombast was an enjoyable note to hit.  It did seem like he might have been elected by the others

I loved Lief's weary, sarcastic "classic Tarzan" comment.  Say more things like that.

I think that honor goes to the woman who bailed after she was cast and just before her season started.  Little help?

Being self-effacing can go a long way.  I'm sure I'll root for her over the waxed chests on the other tribe….

Spiky-haired woman:  "And then this happened."

The degree of her artistry is somewhat of an open question to me (as she did not control many aspects of her recordings), and anyway I'm not at all convinced that it's the primary continuum on which she should be judged.  I'm also told she was a middling, at best, brickmason.

The "vocal gymnastics" tag certainly sticks to some of her mid-career recordings, but overall it fits better when affixed to some of her successors.  The thing Cristina Aguilera would do with her hand pretty much defined the term.

I liked when Ed put on an Oxford shirt and jacket except he was wearing shorts and Lindsey was all "LOL you're wearing shorts" and then she said to the camera they were all a bunch of comedians but then I kept waiting for Lindsey to make a joke or show a sense of humor or seem like she enjoyed other people but she

Gail did her best to make sure it wasn't her.  Not used to seeing her coiffed up to her neck at dinner….

No episode featuring Gail could ever get an "F" from me.  But even that saving grace was spoiled somewhat by the presence of Pee-Wee — who wants to bet that Gail switched up outfits after finding out who she'd be sitting next to?
