I think it was said somewhere that people got mad about its approach to midwifery so they're going to try and redeem themselves in coming weeks so…don't count your eggs before they've been fertilised, I suppose.

Totally agree. They only seem to focus on the Twilight movies - which are pretty bad, but not "worst of the year" bad - seemingly to spite the millions of tweens that love them, and do it for no particular reason. It's "let's shit all over something super popular but kinda dumb" as opposed to "let's point out…
@avclub-42763705844bf5e2af4abd6c898f8dcb:disqus Again, not convinced that it's that difficult for a director to make a period piece. Making the film look set in the 70s is not directorial vision, it's a requirement of the story. Trying to make the film look like a 70s thriller is an utter no-brainer. Of course it…
It must've just been an off night because I know that when I go out to a gay bar I grab the crotch of every single dude just to test the waters. That's how we gays work.
God, yes, this whole subplot nailed the insane idiocy of those dumb categories - I say that as a gay man who, like Max, just doesn't fit into any of them.
Does anyone really think that the show is better off being almost entirely centred around Matthew Perry?
@avclub-42763705844bf5e2af4abd6c898f8dcb:disqus I don't get what's distinctive about it, personally. Felt like generic Hollywood thriller stuff to me. Well put-together, certainly, but I'm not convinced Affleck did a single thing that another perfectly competent director couldn't.
I legitimately thought it was one of the worst-directed films I've ever seen. The squandered potential and failed directorial decisions are staggering. I think people will look back on it as a massive, attempted-auteurial failure.
He really took a big risk doing something done numerous times before.
It's a double-edged sword…like the one Mickey Rourke tried to kill me with.
@i_hate_you_carl_monday:disqus I know you're both just jokin' around but liking this show makes you 10x more masculine than dismissing it because it's "for girls" or whatever
Are you sure? Based off the ratings on the summer finale back in August, ABC Family seemed to have cause to be pretty pleased with it: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2i…
For the record, it wasn't the Bjork cover.
Well it was a 1.0 and a 0.9, so it shows how much they were promoted/everyone tuned out to watch Downton fuckin Abbey.
I found that solution perfectly acceptable.
Chigurh Town
I don't get how you can love a few select episodes and not this. That doesn't make sense.
I dunno if he meant it literally?
It hasn't had time to finish its first season yet, why compare it to three of another show?
Mom Doctor?
