So, what you're saying is, there is no spoon?
Indeed, poetry (as I conceive it) is a way for us to reacquaint ourselves with language and how it works. People tend to dismiss poetry (especially older poetry—I'm looking at you, Spenser and Donne) as being over-wrought and archaic; but I can testify that any reading of

"No touchies."
Remember…waaaay back when?

I believe that, like any other being in Ooo, they have their competent side and their incompetent side. With the Gumball Guardians, their first appearance ("2+2") and Mortal Recoil ("Duuuude…") really make a strong case for their relative effectiveness during a threat, however mild or life-threatening it may be.

When I was younger, I used to sing along to it mockingly; but there is a sincerity and an element of blind-love/attraction in it that is just so very infectious that now I can't help but sympathize with it.

I never really understood what Blanchot and Derrida were going for; but, then again, I've never really understood literary philosophy ("Huis clos"? More like "Who cares?").
And when I began reading articles where the academics tried to link Mallarmé's poetry to some sort of "true meaning," I became lost. I thought

Those things are seriously overpowered. Were those glyphs appearing around its hands when it was shooting those energy beams? I'm a total nerd for magic logic.

I thought I had heard his voice recently on another episode, so I looked through my archives and—sure enough—there he was.

I'm the same, only that I tend to flip through channels and return to it every couple of minutes to see if it picks up.
On another note, My Fair Lady was on last night at around the same time and, even though I already own it on dvd, I can never help watching it (and singing along) when it comes up.

I remember I was so excited for that handful of weeks when they had that solid 1 1/2 hours of comedy (wasn't it Community-30 Rock-P&R?).

Still watching The Simpsons on Sundays, eh? I thought I was the only one.
("A feeling I know all too well" (I couldn't help it, I just rewatched that episode))

I've never really followed any of the other criticism for Community. These reviews constitute my only view into other people's critical assessments of each episode. I believe that, more than ever, I will have to look into myself and decide for myself if I can live with or without this season.

But it's Fey-ted to happen.

But it's Fey-ted to happen.

If Marah can get a foothold on Birth of the Cool, I highly recommend Kind of Blue (obviously), Circle in the Round and Sketches of Spain as the next Miles Davis albums that aren't so divisive and are generally popular and enjoyable.

Gynecologist-suicide callback!

"At least I think he was saying nougats."

That opera is indeed intense—even if it's just an average-sized poem spoken over the course of an hour—the music heightens the dramatic immediacy, that bite that characterized a lot of Beckett's poetry. Thanks again, wally (No? No. Ok, wallflower).

Fuck, now I have that damn Metro Station song stuck in my head again.

Does the phrase "I'm on a boat" enter this scene in any way?
I'm almost tempted to stay home all day tomorrow (it's 11 pm here) because I know there is a good chance that, given my busy schedule, I'll be  getting home really close to 8 pm.

What do you know, Todd? What do you bring us from the future?
