I had almost completely forgotten about the Annie-side of the plot. I just enjoyed the story for where it went and how it resolved itself, as well as the little gags throughout. Based on that, it was more-or-less justified.

Well, Todd makes a couple of excuses on tonight's review, but looking back on the Community reviews, there are only a handful of B/B- reviews in Seasons 2 and 3, not counting Season 1 or any B+ reviews. To name a few: Geography of Global Conflict, Modern Movement, Contemporary Impressionists, Celebrity Pharmacology…
I started watching this show on reruns which, even now, are slightly more enjoyable than watching new episodes. I'll catch a new one on and off, but I may just end up forgetting about it until the last few episodes are set to run. I'm sure I won't have missed much that isn't discernible through context.

I am suddenly reminded of this week's Pop Culture Weekend board, what with all of the hook-up advice that was being mentioned.
Don't worry, Pilot. This show gets a little better, then a little worse, then more worse, but you'll always have a few witty and genuine exchanges in a plethora of sex jokes and misguided…

I am someone who isn't easily discouraged by really long and dense prose, and M&D was shaping up to be a really great read, but I was reading it during a summer-time binge-fest of literary giants, at the same time that I was reading Tristram Shandy (one in the morning, one in the afternoon) and that other one defeated…
Good choices. I wish I could do the same, but the words to the thesis I want to write is on the edge of my Wernicke's area, and I'm hoping this glass in my hand loosens it up.
It's actually 9 pm where I'm at right now, so I think I'll go out and smoke and maybe get a cup of coffee. This can't go on for more than a…
Right, @Semi-bored torontonian gave me the link, and you're right, I did hear something that vaguely sounded like "Korea" in the song, but as for the american stereotypes or music video tropes, I'm completely lost.
Out of all of the character in the pynchonian canon that I have read (half-way through Mason & Dixon, haven't tackled Against the Day since the week it came out), you are probably my 6th favourite. That Hedwig Vogelsang is just too enticing to pass up, no matter how briefly she's mentioned.
Since my university uses the quarter system, and I'm taking 3 literature classes, I kind of expected to get a rapid-fire progression of projects. It's alright though, since this time it's only 3 pages, and I actually understand the subject I'm writing about (no offense, Beckett). I'm just having trouble coming up with…
Completely off-topic, but I noticed your pynchonian user name a long time ago and have not had a chance (or a reason, really) to bring it up since then. This is a pretty flimsy excuse, but I just wanted to get it out of the way.
Oh, Semi-bored, this may be the bourbon, or the fact that I have yet to write anything substantial for the term paper that's due tomorrow, or the fact that I have very little understanding of popular culture (American or Japanese), but I have no idea what I just saw.
Muito obrigado.
For quality, I always turn to the big names like DG and Decca, but I'm mainly looking for performances. I've noticed that in many of his Stravinsky recordings, he tends to lull when the orchestra should carry more weight, and his Debussy recordings sound a lot more meandering than what I'm used to. Which is not a bad…
Alright. Pierre Boulez is a famed composer as well as a conductor, but my appreciation for his works ends with "Le marteau sans maitre" (whenever I try to type foreign accents, Disqus freaks out on me), and his many recordings of various composers, especially Stravinsky, Bartok, and Debussy, are hit-or-miss, although…
Dammit, I can't watch it tonight, but I'll get back on track for next week. Still a big fan.
