What about Survivor?
Big Gay Richard, Boston Rob, Johnny Fairplay, Rupert…..what show had more great characters than Survivor? Not to mention the effect it had on how networks programmed (for better or worse).
Assuredly the best episode since the pilot. Finally it delved a bit into the unease that the blackout created in the minds of the non-FBI public. The Blue Hand concept was a welcome bit of WTF-ery. Well here's hoping that Simon at least represents putting an antagonist's face to the mystery. I'm losing steam on Mark/Olivia/Janis, and I'd like some extra focus on the broader mysteries, lest I begin to suspect that the writers were hoping to slowly wring out the plot (they may not get the chance).
I feel the opposite. The Charlie (Simon?) segments added some much needed big picture wackiness to this story, while I'm continually feeling that an alcoholic falling off the wagon in the future is a galactically mundane issue in the face of worldwide calamity.
I'll give it one more chance…..
I want to like this show, but the logic holes are gaping, in my opinion. What's with the completely pointless pushback Mark receives from his colleagues about pursuing leads? Shut up and rubber stamp the dang flight to Germany, Future-Shitter!
