I'm surprised there was no mention of the "sire" gag from the Over The Heads Of Young Ones Dept., because wow am I surprised they got away with that one.

What, no mention of Push Girls? I figured you guys would be all over that.

Yeah, but when is this film going to get the Criterion treatment?
Interesting that Bill Lawrence, who has been making statements about Nielsen families that could or could not be construed as jokes as part of his grassroots campaign for the return of Cougar Town, hasn't been getting any flack for for his Tweets. Probably because nobody watches his show, so who cares, right?
I think a better riff on that joke might have gone:
"Call me Dr. Bob."
"You go by your first name?"
"Nope. First name's Fred."
"Your name is Fred Bob???"
Sloan's both a cold-blooded murder AND a loving husband?
Two things:
At some time, wasn't the point of using that word to "take it back" or strip it of its power or whatever? Because apparently that's a plan that's totally backfired.
Hell, Norm pulled him off, the boss told him to leave, and BEFORE NORM'S EVEN OUT OF THE ROOM, the boss goes back to trying to assault Diane. Seriously messed up.
What I would like to know is how Keith didn't find that scene overly rape-y, considering that the guy actually spun Diane around and pushed her down onto the billiards table. That's definitely a "I'm going to mount you soon" kind of move.
Or, as I like to think of it, Manic Pixie Double D's.
The thing I remember liking about DCB - admittedly, it's been a while since I had a listen - was that they weren't always so relentlessly, sickeningly upbeat in their songs. Some of them were actually beautifully melancholic.
I'll continue the Christians-who-despise-Christian-music trend, but I think The David Crowder band had made some good music. (Or at least relatively good music, I can't determine which.)
There IS a new Psych, but I don't know why the AV Club seems to have dropped coverage of it so quickly. Perhaps not enough people read the last review?
"LS" are the initials of Lobos Sontaras.
To me it seemed like, based on how scared everybody was, and the general hive-mind nature of the group, that they all got a new power. However, I like your guesses, and I think having some of them keep their old powers while others got new ones could make for some interesting group dynamic drama.
Actually, no. As a tax-supported enterprise, the BBC doesn't do commercial breaks, much like PBS (used to be). Even then, Misfits actually aired on E4, which yes does have some commercial breaks, but not nearly as many as Hulu sticks in. (Even then, I get a sense from the editing that Misfits is one of he shows to…
I was actually wondering if it messed up the pacing. While I agree with Rowan that things did happen a bit too fast in this episode, maybe it wouldn't have been as fast if that supposed extra 15 minutes had been in Hulu version (which is where I assume he watched the episode).
