After watching this, I was really craving a turkey sandwich of some sort, grey goo notwithstanding.

He's played by James Patrick Stuart, whose work I've always liked.  He's had a lot of small parts over the years, but nothing has really taken off for him, so it's nice to see his work here.  He was in the only season of Andy Richter Controls the Universe, if anyone remembers that show.

There's a boring simulation of it in the game Star Trek Online.  Too similar to roulette there.

When you take an objective look at history, definitely.

It's just a function of how 90s music is now old, and therefore "classic" now.

It was all done in the same era…though of course I wish it happened earlier for us.  Damn Southerners.  I take solace that we at least eliminated the international slave trade in 1808 and that Northerners were always trying to limit the power of the South because of slavery, starting with founders like John Adams.
