Oh shit, the end when they move it up a key and Regine just NAILS "THEY HEARD ME SINGING AND THEY TOLD ME TO STOP"

Oh man, Neko and Kelly Hogan's harmonies on "hey there's such gentle wolves" on the "Star Witness" chorus
Love that song. Same for me, everytime the chorus starts
Yeah, especially when you're watching it and you see his eyes bulge and stare into the void and he looks….gone
Rilo Kiley's "Does He Love You?". Basically the whole song, but really the last lines of the song when the big reveal comes and Jenny Lewis screams "Let's not forget ourselves dear friend…"
That's weird, I've always heard the opposite - that Americans defer to their kids so much that they become the center of the universe. I thought in Europe there was much more delineation of "kid life" and "adult life"
Well, just about the last thing I expected when I woke up yesterday was to be brought to tears by fucking Better Things, but here we are
That song sealed the deal between my girlfriend and I when we randomly discovered we liked it (and it fit our relationship at the time) and loved Phair.
That's probably my favorite "deep cut" of hers right there
Go ahead and get the third too
"It's nice to be liked
"Just putting your body wherever it seems like a good idea"
I'm a Phair fanboy / completist and have to say this is a GREAT list. You're dead on about Whitechocolatespaceegg (agree that it's her best) and the unfairly reviled self titled album has some great tunes also (though I have to say Somebody's Miracle leaves me a bit bored).
Upvote for the call back to Schmidt's description of Jess
Nadia stole the show with zero lines and five seconds of screentime.
That's a GREAT PULL
Anyone remember Fire By Night, or some such named show? It was like the worst, cheesiest, sitcommy show ever that aired on some Christian cable network
Oooohhh…I saw FNM on that Angel Dust tour and Helmet opened.
Same here. I'm 44, and grew up Southern Baptist, so I remember this well.
"A mile"?
