Hmmm…was I supposed to laugh at Stephen's horror when Candy was shot? I felt pretty stupid for laughing when no one else was, but I felt it was an over-the-top example of the "house slave's" paternal love for "Massa" - reinforced by the cliched slow-motion "Nooooooo!" as he dives for his body.
