The Sundays

@avclub-394dc8be941678fb1dcfc647005e6af6:disqus , actually, several of the Endless appear in the series. Death and Destiny have particularly memorable interactions with Lucifer.

I wonder if they'll ever do the Death or Lucifer follow-up series. The latter series is greatly underestimated, IMHO.

The first song I heard by Coldplay was "Careful Where You Stand", which gave an altogether different first impression of the band.

The expansion that mitigates Catan chance the most is the Traders and Barbarians box. That one has the Event cards (which replace the dice with 37 cards that are shuffled and drawn, so most of the time, you don't have long droughts of, say, 5s like you can with dice) and it also has the Fisherman of Catan

Fiasco… that is an interesting game. I'm not sure I'd consider it a board game. It seems to have a whole lot of very pure roleplaying for a board game and the "goal" of the game (play out a really good story) is very unboardgamelike too. Definitely one of the more interesting and entertaining games I've played. Some

Doesn't this happen a lot in country music?  For example, Emmylou Harris and Buddy Miller seem to get around a lot in their circle of country music.

I'm not sure that Whedon would have done that. I think Jet and Faye would have helped Spike get into the building with Jet getting shot in the head in a random firefight a la Dollhouse, Serenity or Buffy Season 6 or 7. Spike and Faye would survive and figure out how to carry on…

Let me join the chorus of voices rejoicing in the return of this feature. Think we'll see The Hunger Games or We Need to Talk About Kevin? I'd be interested in seeing the latter discussed in Book vs. Film.

Yup.  The funny part is when you can comment in some subthreads, but not in others.  On Chrome, I can't log in at all.  Also, this being Disqus, I can't use my AV Club login… I'm using the login I use at boingboing.net (which also uses Disqus). I guess this is now my official pseudonym de net…

Hold on a minute, though.  The Dark Tower's first entry was published in 1982 and the last entry was written in 2004… 22 years for the people who read it from the beginning.  There were gaps in excess of four years between each of the first 5 entries of the series too.  We had no idea where it was going… UseNET

I think it's a genre thing… a lot of Fantasy (and SF) is about worldbuilding, which tends to lead to open ended series as the world gets explored and developed.

This commenting system is vile.  No idea if I'm actually logged in.
