The jump forward in time just reminded me of that season of Step by Step where suddenly the baby they just had is a precocious little blonde 5 year-old.

I think this show worked incredibly well because noone seemed to be taking it that seriously. When I compare this to say, "The Mindy Project", this show seems to be a bunch of people just having fun, whereas MP looks like a show where everyone was having severe "Guys…this HAS to be good" issues.
