A lot of very smart people make bad, petty, ego-driven decisions. J Petrille flatly implied that he's faux smart, at best. That's a ridiculous assertion unless that poster is a rare genius of some sort.

KO may be a lot of things, but "not very smart" is not remotely close to being one of them.

Man, I'll read anything Charles Pierce writes. Sports, politics, general musings — it's all very well done. I especially love it when he lets loose. This is the best Sarah Palin takedown I've ever read and the last paragraph is pure gold.

Rush is the greatest gift the nation of Canada has ever bestowed upon the world. Just say "thank you", and go back to shining your many guns.

If this show makes you feel terrible after you watch it, you're broken. It may put a lump in your throat, and some melancholy in your heart, but you'll never regret it. It's like having an emotionally difficult moment with a loved one; tears ged shed, hugs get thrown and you walk away glad that it happened. Very

Even the most conservative of the Canadian national parties is left of the US Democratic party.

More fun to watch than the men's world cup? So you prefer your soccer to be slow, moderately skilled, awkward and unconnected? Women's soccer has come a long way in the past 20 years, and will continue to get better and better in the near future. That being said, 80 percent of the women I've seen in this tournament

Apparently, the new book has a different take on that accepted fact. He comes from a family with of abolitionists from what I gather from the author. The whole point of the new book is that a lot of what has been considered true about Cobb is not necessarily so.

Amon Amarth is one of the greatest metal bands of all time and still releasing great music rather frequently.

Doomstar Requiem is by far and away the greatest musical ever. I've probably watched that thing over 20 times by now. It's just absolutely great.

I love metal. I've always loved metal. I care virtually nothing about lyrics. Fair to Midland is just sort of there. You're not missing much.

My wife thought I was crazy when I suggested we watch a show centred around high school football. She was as reluctant as can be. It's one of her favourite shows of all time. (Skip season two if you ever capitulate)

Depends where you live. When it's -30 and the snow is knee deep or it's really icy a treadmill is necessary. Otherwise I don't get why people wouldn't take a run outside.

He's a benevolent god.

God I miss early In Flames.

Probably my most hated song, ever. Just a few days ago I was in the grocery store and it was playing. I couldn't take it so I actually plugged my ears while looking at some spices. A woman apologized to me thinking her kids were too loud. I told her the truth and we had a good laugh.

I'm no defender of the NCAA, but as far as football goes, there is seldom any interest from the NFL in players that don't at least play football for a few college years. Football requires that kids learn to play the game whereas basketball is more content to take the great athlete.

Six Feet Under can be a little melancholy, but it's seldom downbeat. It is actually quite a beautiful and life affirming show about family, relationships, life and death. It never made me sad, it only made me view life and death from a different perspective. It's wonderful and I urge anybody to stick with it.

Bored to Death is a show I dearly miss. It's not for everyone, but it's a great hang out show that's not really about anything, and really funny if you like quirky oddball sort of comedy. The three leads are excellent, and have excellent chemistry too. As for the rest, The Wire and Sopranos are the two best shows

He may be smug, but he's actually got the chops to back it up. He's almost as smart as he thinks he is, he's a terrific writer, and a truly articulate voice in a field sadly lacking in these things.
