I think what Aronofsky did best in the Wrestler was stay out of the way, which can be tough for a director who, in his first 3 movies, really pushed the limits of film technology. It's a simple film in the technical respect, and I think it's the movie that proves Aronofsky really is a great director.

I think the theatrical versions of them still look remarkably good, because so much of it was done in camera. Jabba the Hutt looks real because he is real. They added a bunch of CGI to the SE and CGI rarely ages well. So now, parts of Star Wars look like crap 10 years later, when for 20 years, it looked great.

The thing about Groening, or at least from what I've seen of him, is that he's really not that funny of a guy. He's behind two of the funniest shows I've ever seen, and he seems creative, but he doesn't seem like he's really funny at all.
