Whedon or some of Whedon's best acolytes. (Jed and Maurissa did such great work on Dollhouse and Spartacus, Zack does brilliant work on Southland…or did anyway, Tim Minear, Jane Espenson, Drew Goddard etc.)

Eh, When you really look at his ITs a big portion of them are due to receiver error.  And he's shown that he can actually read a defense very well.  He tends to make the mistakes you discussed when his team isn't giving him any help at all.

@avclub-0108709d613bc1d1db7e5c2b5f02c657:disqus really?  Holding on to the ball too long?  It seemed to me he got sacked before he could even look up.

Yes he did.  I'm wondering if Skye was just latching on to a name she knew had deeper meaning for her less evil tasks.

Also a pretty big stink was and sometimes still is made about Eli refusing to go play for SD.

I love that the face Eli is pulling here is the exact face Eli pulls during most of the games.

Yes.

or Fringe? or X-Files?

And fucking Wastelanders which I really hope is still happening.

Pretty sure Loeb is just in the credits because he is head of Marvel TV.  Doubt he'll do any writing.  Though he might also be the editorial interference that could fuck up the show if they aren't careful.

Oh I'd disagree, I think Last Resort had quite a few great episodes and wound up being a really interesting 13 episode show.  Never quite lived up to the pilot but it wasn't Under the Dome like in it actually getting BAD.

True, but then again you couldve said the same about the young people in Buffy and Angel and look how great they turned out to be.

Yeah I think they are day to day showrunners/head writers, with Joss in a higher up role to bounce ideas off of, do some small writing here and there.

Yup exactly what I was saying as well.  A Sci-fi version of NCIS with this talent in the writing room means it will at least be fun.

I liked that when Simmons asked which robot found it and he said Bashful she said "Aww!" Like she was really rooting for Bashful.

Avengers: EMH is awesome and so is Avengers Assemble.

To be fair, that was confusing, as it also seemed like Rising Tide is who Ward was fighting in Paris.

Yeah I'd love to see him back on the show.  They it's doubtful he'd keep his powers.  If they had a regular member of the team who has superhero level strength it makes almost every challenge easy for them.

The thing is as much as it was about being a civilian in a superhero world it was definitely also about being someone in the real world who feels smooshed down by the system, never able to catch a break, the people in control seeming like the faceless enemy.  I thought it was great.

I never minded Dollhouse getting cancelled that much.  Sure, it wouldve been great to last 5 seasons but it seemed like he stuffed seasons 2-5 into season 2 and Epitaph 2 definitely felt like the ending of the show.  As it stands we have a great 26 episode story. Very satisfying, and as you say, brilliant.
