I agree about the long term tension.  It is probably the best thing the show has going for it and ups the stakes of every other storyline.

The Hitler thing isn't what pisses me off.  The racist shit is what pisses me off (and of course the factual inaccuracies of him saying that Obama refuses to compromise).  I don't even fucking LIKE Obama that much as a President.  I think he's continuing many of the most egregious of our foreign policies.

He has a few short stories and novels that basically put forth the thesis that any gay relationship will end in destruction or violence.  And this is before he really went batshit.

Loving this column.  The writing is great, perfect melding of musical discussion and real personal emotion.  And it's giving me new bands to check out, which is always the best.

I read it digitally and still loved it, but obviously you dont get the tactile actual flipping it over thing.

Collins and Beaver are definitely the two acting titans on the show.  Both just so great.  I'm very excited for Evil Cas.

Good point about it taking its time.  It shows how much better that that is that I am here going "let's get back to the serial plot!" whereas last year I was like "Wait…what is the serial plot?"

It seems to be getting mixed reviews but some of them seem quite high.  For the most part I have disagreed with Dowd almost entirely on mainstream or popcorn-y flicks.
