Yeah! For old time's sake.
Yeah! For old time's sake.
Seriously? I think Jay is good in Undeclared and She's Out of My League, but his voice in How to Train Your Dragon kept throwing me off the movie. I mean, sure, he might share some of the personality quirks and whatnot from Hiccup, but he doesn't SOUND like a kid or a teenager, he sounds like an adult.
Smart decision.
I'm not that impressed about Marion fitting perfectly into the Dardenne's world, they choose their actors wisely and they have done something similar before. By the time they made Le Gamin au Vélo, Jérémie Renier and Cecile de France were both stars and I don't think anybody would ever say that they were unconvincing…
That's two and a half hours of scripted programming. HBO doesn't do that. I think True Detective will be back on the fall to replace Boardwalk Empire.
Probably paired with The Leftovers. It will be another one of those hilariously mismatched HBO drama-comedy block, like True Detective-Girls-Looking, Game of Thrones-Veep-Family Tree, True Blood-Curb Your Enthusiasm-Entourage, and so on…
Yeah, same here. I find Melanie Lynskey very talented and underrated, but there's too many good things I'm behind on to waste time on yet another version of this show.
So I just plowed through my season 2 episodes that were sitting in my DVR and some belated thoughts on it:
Actually, Hot in Cleveland airs on average just 24 episodes per season, which's unusual for a cable show, but on par with what the big networks do.
The first few episodes of The New Normal were brutally awful in so many levels (it was even poorly directed, which's very rare for a sitcom these days), but I was surprised to catch a couple late episodes and find myself enjoying it. Even the heartwarming endings were less sappy than I would've expected. Maybe it's…
Thank God, I found somebody who thinks the same. God, I hate that first season I couldn't even finish it. Pretty sure I stopped around episode 5. A friend of mine says the first three seasons and the season where Dee gets pregnant are the best ones, so I'm staying the fuck away from this show.
Wow, major changes all around. Amazing how there's at least one surprising move in each day. I don't know how to react to some of them. I like that they're giving Mom some much deserved boost, but keeping The Millers, The Good Wife and Elementary where they were seems weird to me (though I guess this is also good news…
I understand, but that's still better than to be moved to the 7pm slot. Bob's Burgers lost over half of its audience with that move. There's no way the show will survive after that. Had they tried it on Tuesdays, it would at least had served a purpose. There's no reason why FOX can't just air reruns of The Simpsons at…
Utopia is probably D.O.A. I think they did the best they could with the other days, but other than Gotham and Mulaney, I'd be surprised if any of them work out. They seem very incompatible with their lead-ins (completely bizarre their decision to slot Red Band Society after Hell's Kitchen, but again, it's their best…
It's weird to me that FOX seems determined to kill Bob's Burgers when it was rating better than all of their comedies by airing it at 7pm on Sundays this season. I don't understand why not simply give it a try over on Tuesdays, but okay. It's pretty much guaranteed Bob's Burgers won't make it past its fifth cycle now.
I think you need to watch Scorsese's The Last Temptation of Christ…
I would be surprised if they renewed for 22 episodes, but not for 13 or 15. I was counting Revolution as NBC's next Parenthood (a show that never had the same amount of episodes each season), but I guess they're too good these days to have a new Parenthood.
On the next episode: Jesus dreams about a threesome with Mary and Joseph.
Ooops, didn't see that.
I think they should have renewed Revolution, but those numbers were not that good to leave the show on Wednesdays. I think it could have aired on Sundays at midseason, since they're struggling so much with that day and for so long. With the proper promotion (maybe a special airing after The Voice), it could have…
