I liked Bored to Death, but not even close to The Comeback and Curb.

No shit, The Comeback is probably my favorite HBO comedy series of all-time. Yes, even better than Curb Your Enthusiasm. Lisa Kudrow is a force of nature here.
Lots of examples these days. Beth Grant on Mindy Project, Gregg Binkley on Raising Hope, even Ana Gasteyer and Chris Parnell were guest stars on Suburgatory at first (I think).
That's acceptable too (I honestly have only seen her in X-Men: First Class other than here, and I didn't think she was that bad as some people did), but I can't in good conscience not give some of the credit to Jones.
Yep. That and the three women in the elevator on season 4's The Beautiful Girls is unbelievably awesome.
I actually honestly think she was the best actress of season 1. Her therapy scenes are brilliantly performed. It's all very internalized for this character, much more so than for the other characters. In a way, she kinda has to act for herself as Betty's mostly limited to her own scenes where she doesn't interact with…
There haven't been big enough stars to be selling point for viewers, but there have been quite a handful of good and very recognizable guests on this show. Doris Roberts, Molly Shannon, Jane Kaczmarek,…
Why was it not good? I mean, can you be specific?
ABC's head of scheduling is a lunatic. Super Fun Night should have been on Tuesdays ever since the fall, except it had Rebel Wilson so they wanted to give it its best slot. But that was always ridiculous because SFN is clearly a lot more young-oriented (and therefore, more compatible with S.H.I.E.L.D.) than The…
I've really come to love this show. It hasn't delivered an outright hilarious episode yet, but it's so adorable nonetheless. It's like a sitcom version of Parenthood, where all the characters love each other and treat each other kindly. I mean, there hasn't been a single episode in the entire season where Hillary and…
I doubt it gets a second season. The last episode had worse ratings than Supernatural. C-fucking-W!
I should have said that when I said that, I only meant in the way it was introduced back in season 3 which made me not care for them as a couple at first. Their dynamic in season 3 was basically the same from Jim and Pam. They would catch each other's eye, be very awkward with each other, try to play it cool until…
Or 30 Rock and Community. Or even going back to The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
I know, I'm not saying it's a Schur thing, I'm saying it's something I've come to expect from his shows and at this point, whenever I see that happening again, it feels like "been there, done that".
Exactly, and the same can be said about Jim and Pam. We saw years of their friendship evolving and when they became a couple, it was so much rewarding. I didn't like the fact that Ben was imediately Leslie's romantic interest the moment Adam Scott became a regular. We didn't even get to see their friendship.
I'm still waiting for the show to reach A-level quality (though the Thanksgiving episode almost pulled it off), but there are so few laugh-out-loud funny comedies on TV currently that it's must-watch TV nonetheless.
Thank you! The Brooklyn 99 victory was great on so many levels, not least of which because it was the best choice among the nominees.
I can't quite put my finger on why this season has been so disappointing. It's just bizarrely flat and plotless. Like they got all of these wonderful actresses, but couldn't quite come up with a plot that keeps all of them together, so they decided to just create tiny little obstacles that get solved within an episode…
I haven't seen anything from Parks in 2013, but Ben was nerdy in a completely straight man-y way. There are plenty of examples of quirky nerds in Community or The Big Bang Theory.
But P&R still has two straight men - Jones and Scott.
