I've seen this and liked it. SPOILER: There is very little resembling a plot.

Ambiguous? The man couldn't be more German.

I came on here to point out the same thing. He speaks good German, but it's fairly obviously an American to anyone who speaks the language. After some sleuthing, I discovered old Carrington has a reel on youtube in which he also speaks some German.

It sounds better on there, although it

That picture immediately brought to mind the blog "Men who look like old lesbians." Sorry, Wim. Tut mir leid.

That picture is terrifying.

just to insert a minor point here w/r/t the whole "timeless" ambiguousness: A translator was being used, so 1) any discussion of Haneke's English fluency is irrelevant, and 2) by virtue of the translator's presence any claims of Haneke's fluency are undermined.

I was rather amazed at how much I liked it. A pretty perfect fusion of styles in Wes Anderson and Roald Dahl.

A resounding "meh"
Well, AV Club, I guess Paul F. Tompkins is where you and I part ways. As a Mr. Show cast member, I wanted to like his stuff, but there's just not much there. I listened to his first album on the AVC's recommendation and was underwhelmed. And an "A" album this was not, to my ears. It's a decent

I always assumed the show was set in Southern California, seeing as it's obviously filmed in Southern California. Although now the snowboarding Senor Chang makes sense.

Ever since seeing Not Another Teen Movie (a by-the-book spoof movie that I enjoy more than I feel good about), wherein the school cafeteria is named in his honor, I always think of him as Anthony Michael Dining Hall.

Sure, I'll be that asshole
It's spelled Nietzsche. Five glorious consonants in a row.

Actually I believe it was "nucular decay."

Can that "erratic, violent behavior" noise. This is about race, pure and simple. Six dislikes 7 because of the color of his skin, but he's simply too much of a coward to admit it. Well I'm tired of this shit. We're all one human family, and 6's bigotry is unacceptable in the modern world.

Thanks, friend.

It's "Sie liebt dich"
not "leibt." Seeing as you obviously don't speak-a the language, you might want to double check your spellings there, Chucky.

Huge James Joyce Nerd here
The quote in question was in reference to Ulysses, not Dubliners.
