+1 to Los Pollos.
Never mind people moving to Texas, far from everyone who grows up in Texas has a Texas accent.  Among people that I know who are under 40 and grew up in and around the larger cities in Texas, I'd say that less than a third have a Texas accent.  (More than that sprinkle an occasional "y'all" into

Jordan - You make a great point about "everything aligning for a presumed endgame", which is then somehow derailed.  I think that ties to my point about " misunderstandings, coincidences, or actions taken with imperfect knowledge", as these derail that presumed endgame.

I agree, and I'm in the same boat as you in not having read the comic.  I think that the Governor plot line is pretty much played out.  Maybe the character dies, or maybe the character lives but the plot/setting shifts so that he doesn't appear frequently.  Whichever is the case, I am certainly hoping not to see much

That would work for me.  I'm having a tough time seeing the show keeping Matthew Lillard around to play a paralyzed character, but kudos to them if that does happen.

Yes, I think he was, and that would be another big plot hole.  I believe that CBP runs plates on every car headed both ways across the border.  Even if Tate changed the plates, under these circumstances you'd expect a high priority BOLO for both Frye's car and, as someone said above, anyone matching Tate's description.

Agree completely with your last paragraph.  Linder is a promising character.  The Ray/Charlotte storyline shows potential after these last few episodes where one or the other of them has killed someone each week.

I can't be the only person who thought Marco looked really thirsty in that hospital bed.  If only Sonya would have been thoughtful and offered him a glass of water.

I do think that my opinion of this episode is lower because it's running during the same weeks as Breaking Bad, but I've had a tough time caring about anything tied to the Tate storyline.

Thanks - it may just show that I have too much time on hands or think about this show too much (but damn, it's a good show).

The coercion defense may work, but I have to differ on the last couple of points.

Wow.  As bleak as BB has been at times, that would be an amazingly dark ending.  I think that Vince Gilligan would need to call Saul's vacuum guy to go into hiding from the Team Jesse fans.  I'm not saying that it's a bad ending, but it is an exceptionally dark one for Jesse, who has been so shaken by harm coming to

I have a pet theory that the "Hank is Heisenberg" theory will get some traction with the DEA and figure prominently in the next episode.  Besides Walt's "confession", we have:

I'm not certain how Marie ends up in jail, but I went back to view that scene and you're absolutely right about the jail bars on her picture.  Nice catch.

There's part of me that thinks that Walt's treatment of Jesse these past 2 episodes is setting us up to be sympathetic when Jesse kills Walt in the finale.   I suppose the most poetic justice would be for Jesse to let Walt die through an act of omission, just like Walt did with Jane.

Yes, I think that FX is going to (if it hasn't already) overtake AMC as the leading prestige basic cable network.  I don't know if AMC really cares, though, because networks like USA and TNT make plenty of money even though they have few if any "prestige" shows.  Not saying that I like that as a viewer, but it may

I think that we also see Skyler leaving a message on Walt's phone right before Marie comes in, with the message along the lines that Skyler wants Walt to give her a call and has left prior messages for him.  That also helps make the case.

I agree with your assessment of quality - I think that Mad Men and Breaking Bad are by far the best AMC shows - but "they know they are done once these 2 shows go off the air" doesn't fit the facts.  The Walking Dead gets much higher ratings than either Mad Men or Breaking Bad.

I thought Todd's offer to smooth things over with the Czechs also included a hint of gaining a direct connection to those buyers in case it ever becomes necessary to eliminate Lydia.

I'm thinking that it's more likely that Walt is coming back to deal with a threat to his family from someone, most likely Lydia and/or Jack's crew, which fits with #2 and #3 on your list but not #1.  I wouldn't be surprised if that threat has already killed at least 1 of Skyler, Flynn, and Holly.
