I'm baffled by how any of this indicates a supposed fight between them.

I'd say we've already done that enough this week due to the comments on the Stop Making Sense article, but there's no such thing as talking too much about love for that song.
It's Minghella's best movie, so much better than The English Patient. Though Truly, Madly, Deeply is a close second because of how great Juliet Stevenson is in it.
I have a lot of questions about this comment, but most pressingly:
I was just reading this thinking the same thing. I love The Tin Drum, and I haven't seen this but it sounds genuinely awesome all the same. I was wondering why so many film people kept mentioning the new Universal Soldier movie…
Flight was almost great but ended up just a hair too pandering. It would have been nice to see them more fully explore a latent idea in there that…
You had me at:
James James: Capitalist Lion Tamer.
I'm still holding out for a new MC Honky record.
Very excited to hear people are keen on this. I was a bit disappointed in The Winter of Mixed Drinks, though the few songs I like on it are as good as their best stuff. It mostly just suffers in comparison to Midnight Organ Fight which is such a fantastic record all the way through.
Best PBS pledge drive idea ever.
That backhanded compliment of a phrase is much less bothersome if you hear it in Maggie Smith's voice.
@avclub-c156902f5b20b572848be18c11634dfb:disqus No smiling for me. I've seen this film more than a dozen times and I get teary-eyed at the performance of This Must Be The Place every single time. It's just monumentally beautiful as performed here, and totally overwhelming.
That flash is off…on purpose.
So, Friday Buzzkills are back I guess?
Separate but related question:
Round Is Funny this Fall!
DFW is a tough one for me. It's not the length so much as the digressive style. I just find him often exhausting to read, and I lose patience trudging through in search of some brilliant line or insight.
It's not as good as the first half because, unlike the brilliant casting of that nutjob Moriarty, Sorvino is woefully miscast here.
Perhaps this form of advice could be called a gateway to geekery?
