Yeah, that fake-out/rewinding bullshit made me want to throw my TV out the window. Oliver Stone has been making movies too long to pull that kind of amateurish nonsense.

The movie does not surpass the close-up of Tommy Lee Jones in his last scene. I always love him, but he took a great role and made it even better. Just phenomenal.

I watched Savages as well and thought it mostly terrible. It's a bad sign when the opening scene reveals that your movie will be narrated by Blake Lively. The one positive note was Salma Hayek, who looked awesome in bangs and seem to be having fun playing the bad guy.

Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World has the best description of Bob Dylan I've ever heard. It's not my favorite Murakami, but it's good moments are fantastic.

Holy shit do I love Dead Man's Shoes. Paddy Considine is just amazing in that movie.

Lincoln was great but agreed it should have ended sooner in the story. The best thing about it is that, despite it's title, it's not a biopic, but a story about the 13th Amendment. It's basically 2.5 hours of conversations about this, and totally riveting and enjoyable throughout. Once the amendment passes (spolier…

Which is really odd, since the problem with most shows these days (especially hour long dramas) is the opposite—packing too much in those first few episodes out of a desperate need to hook viewers right away.
