Wow, I had no idea that "gutter punk" was a thing, beyond the context I know it in: what a painfully cute 20something lady friend of mine describes her outfits as. That's pretty much the vibe I get from her. Honestly can't stand her in many ways and her inescapableness everywhere including the AVC is discouraging.

The noise pop band I'm in put out its new EP recently, and it's been doing pretty well. We're performing at the local alt-weekly's music awards festival this month, and lining up shows in Austin, Lawrence, Chicago, etc. so that's cool.

If you're going to do the jeans-and-jacket thing, it needs to be with a significantly more "casual" and textured jacket than what those guys did, which seemed to just be "grab a suit jacket and throw it on."
