One of the biggest disappointments of the last couple years for me is my inability to get CBS now, and therefore no Craig Ferguson (except clips online).

Yeah I know Beta had better picture quality.

Literally, nothing I've heard has ever made me want to see it. I can't imagine Wayne was worse as Genghis Khan in this than he was as Pontius Pilate in "King of Kings". Which I've also never seen.

You can get me a switch.

If you've seen the movie, you wouldn't have to ask. HA!!

@ Kills Owls
The smoking probably didn't help, but the radioactive surroundings on the shoot in the Nevada desert didn't do anyone any favors. John Wayne died of lung cancer, it's true, but people from the movie started coming down with all varieties of virulent cancers not long after the movie. Maybe that can be

Thank you - that's actually been bothering me, a little, for a couple years. I know VHS was much cheaper, and I must have confused Beta's shorter recording capability with NON-recording capability sometime in past decades.
Whew. That 70s Show still is awesome then.

"That 70s Show" had an ep where Red bought a VCR, but he bought Beta and not VHS. Haha, ok fine, but much was made of this Beta machine being used to record.

Oh. Never mind.

Indeed they did! And of course were assured by the govt that it was safe, when the govt had no idea.

OP
As I recall, Jeffrey Tambor provided the voiceover, but did not voice Mr Peanut. Actually, I think he voiced ads for Planters Mixed Nuts, rather than peanuts per se.

@Warren Oates
More than half. That wasn't so much a "mysterious curse" though.

Also regarding his comment about being very in-demand as an actor at this time: he was definitely kidding. He's talked/written pretty extensively about the crapper in which his career languished between TOS and TMP.

You will not ever regret getting around to MTM. It definitely lives up to its reputation.

Well yeah, Sulu wins. I didn't think I needed to say that. He's awesome and always has been.

Yes. Nobody can cry while eating a cheeseburger for me ever again.

Yup…I was totally with it until the "rent-boy" comment. That's got nothin' to do with nothin'.

Just for fun: Hedy Lamarr was notoriously litigation-happy, so the joke is topical as well as funny.

I have tickets to see her in concert in December. I don't tell everyone that, though, because I never know who will feel compelled to make a snide comment, and frankly I just don't want to hear it. All it does is make me irritated with the person I'm talking to.

Maybe it's just that I've stopped drinking
But GLEE, suddenly, I don't get anymore. At all.
