First fight
An old boyfriend's and my first fight which devolved into, yes, "It was STUPID when Spock died!" "NO, it was STUPID when YODA died!". We were full-grown adults at the time and yes liquor was involved.

Elvis Presley, Bing Crosby and Groucho Marx all died within a very short period of time. IIRC, two of them died within three weeks of each other. When the third one went, I freaked out a little. It was the first time I remember my mother giving me a look like "Um, is this kid ok?"
Yes, Pretentious Guy!!! That's EXACTLY why I didn't like "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". Bugs would NEVER have treated Eddie that way in the one scene they had, and it pissed me off. Eddie was an ally/
I only saw 1776 once, many many years ago (decades ago) but I've always fondly remembered "New York abstains." "Courteously!"
To whoever hoped that Sirk was better than "Far From Heaven" - oh dude, WAAAY better. "Far From Heaven" actually led me to Sirk. I heard his name mentioned so often at the time I decided to rent "All That Heaven Allows", and the difference is night and day.
I love my memory of her just walking off-camera the last time Bill did that to her.
:) We love what we love. Jon Lovitz was never the same - ah well it had a good run.
My own comments, for the heck of it
1. She was awesome in The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. Truly frightening. The books describe her as looking human, but not really human, and she made that real for me.
Yes texasannie I know what you mean. On the other hand, since we're all on this board, we were all watching NEWSRADIO and loving it. I know my first actual thought was "Not NEWSRADIO!"
Cameron…"Please don't correct me. It sickens me" is so familiar. I was just getting ready to google it up.
OH NO! Never mind! I was confusing with the Cap'n's "Yeargh. I don't know what I'm doin'." So sorry.
Gorg I don't want to nitpick, but starting that particular quote with "Ooh" instead of "Yeargh" is like saying "Duh" instead of "D'oh!" It's an awesome quote though.
I was going to a friend's after work to hang out and he came out and told me he'd just seen it on the news. I didn't believe him - I guess that's a common reaction to news like that. I mean, I didn't exactly think he was making it up, I just thought it had to be a mistake.
Beth's song, such great memories
When I saw that pic, of Beth at the mic and Bill at the piano, I couldn't remember anything about the episode except I LOVED it. Then I read the article and remembered why - I was so disappointed too that she never got to finish. And it was so funny.
The only thing I found disturbing about friends was, yes, Chandler's obvious physical decline due to much-publicized substance abuse problems. I couldn't help but have taken it a little personally because at his PEAK I had a couple friends independently of each other compare me to him. We definitely resembled each…
"Who in the HELL is Frank Sinatra?"
Ray Stevens' videos have ALWAYS looked awful. He put some out in the eighties, new ones for his old songs and they looked like they were cranked out about three every five minutes.
She'd done been IN-censed! "The Streak" was a fun song back in the day, so was "Ahab the Arab" before I knew any better (I know for instance now that Ahab was a king of Israel, so probably not an A-rab. And I know that pronouncing it "A-Rab" isn't funny. The camel sound was funny though). He did used to have some…
@wrecks - yes indeed that's probably Webb Pierce's signature song. It's awesome.
Dude. Conway Twitty "Hello Darlin'"
Hands down, the craziest song I've ever heard. Guy meets his old love on the street and totally loses his shit. "Look up darlin', let me kiss you, just for old times SAAAAKE!!!"
